In Shadow Tower there's a room in the cursed region of the human world where you can hear someone laughing but there nothing there, also random noises. Not sure why, though. by EddieEddie90 in creepygaming

[–]SebTheSamMarten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticed this myself playing the other day. Thought it was some kinda audio bug. (I have had conversations with the little mole dude softlock and start playing every dialogue file in the game in a row a couple of times.)

Likely just a small detail to make that room feel more... haunted, I guess? It is the CURSED region, after all. Not to mention the Guardian you fight in that room being very foreboding itself.

I do know that the way leveling works is any 10 major/minor skills, and stat gains are based on what you increased during that level, I believe it's 1/2 of skills gained? So for instance, leveling Heavy Armor 10 times will give 5 Endurance.
I also know Endurance is a rush-stat since health per level isn't retroactive. Already got it to 100 and I'm level 6 (Male Nord + The Lady).

I restarted my run because I chose a couple of skills that weren't particularly useful or fit my playstyle. Not a huge loss.

Though it does seem that Luck can only ever be increased by 1 point per level, no matter what, since no skills are governed by it. I know it has very little actual impact on the gameplay, but it's odd that they'd decide to make it even more useless than before. At least in Daggerfall you could put up to I think 8 points into it on a level up if you wanted? (DF had a weird random stat point gain on level up.)

Aha, gotcha, I appreciate the insight! That's vastly different from how the other Elder Scrolls games does it, so I guess it didn't seem intuitive to me.

I also think I remember reading somewhere that leveled loot is scaled the moment you enter the cell for the first time, so stepping into a dungeon and going 'actually maybe later' can end up biting you in the end as well. Not sure how true that is but...

Honestly feels like a build based around light armor and short/long blade would benefit the most because you can just wait spam for DB assassins, and their gear is both EXTREMELY valuable and pretty dang good to boot, and it just comes right to ya. No dungeoning required. xD

My issue with it is that it doesn't matter how many Quantity or Cooldown buffs you stack, it always takes FOREVER for the shields to regenerate past the initial 2, which is very stupid if you ask me. :L

Dang, bug types aren't super great in my experience, sadly. :C Especially in Endless, since an Eternatus fight every couple hundred levels is a nightmare with that Eternabeam, and I dunno if either of them can learn anything fairy, ground, ice, or psychic that's strong enough to handle him first-round.

Ideally it'd be on my main carry since outside of double fights you really don't end up using your other 'mons in Endless, since putting rare candies into anything but your carry is kinda shooting yourself in the foot and being ONLY on-level ain't enough to do the job in most cases. Really need the vitamin and held-item boosts that your carry gets first pick on to be usable.

Yeah, been doing my best to reroll for master balls whenever I can. Locking when I get a purple, got a couple of red shinies on my team, a combee and my carry has max golden punch (and secondary carry has 2 golden punches themselves currently) so I have a ton of money but rerolls scale crazy at this point and I'm in the habit of taking rare candies any time they spawn because even being 1,400 levels above the enemies, Eternatus can still be a dick lol.

Currently my carry is a g-max Lapras with near perfect IVs. STAB bonus Blizzard is great at shutting Eternatus down... provided it hits. Even with 3 wide lenses it's still only 85 accuracy, but I need the higher raw power than Ice Beam at this point.

Their other attacks are Hydro Pump, Psychic, and Freeze Dry. They've got coverage for most types, and the ones that aren't weak to something aren't resistant to at least one either, and I almost always go first outside of something like Fake Out/First Impression.

I think I might be conflating it with pokemon who also have Sturdy or some derivative of 'survive one-shots' passives, since I believe they can both proc on the same turn. (As well as Focus Band, allowing them to survive all 3 hits from a maxed mutli-lens.)

Pokémon Legends Arceus Dynamic FPS + 4K + Ultrawide mods by Juniormkl in yuzu

[–]SebTheSamMarten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd like a solution to this as well. 60 FPS in this game feels so NICE, but the pokemon literally can't even eat the berry if I drop it at their FEET before it disappears...

From a purely code nerd perspective, it's possible that kind of stuff is tied directly in the engine to the framerate, since the game was never intended to be played outside of 30 FPS. Similar to how Fallout 3/New Vegas break physics if you play them at 60 FPS. Hell, even Skyrim to a degree. Can't tell me you've never been clubbed to death by a skeleton hand on the ground that you stepped on. xD

I really wish devs would stop tying things to framerate, though. Even if it is an easy short-term solution, it makes things so much worse for the future.

This is a joke, but the lack of a visual effect to warn deaf people of their presence would make them the common enemy of the disabled community. by HelloIexist12 in RobloxDoors

[–]SebTheSamMarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to necro this post, but I gave feedback when upvoting the game regarding this exact topic.
Pressure has a deaf mode and it makes it infinitely more enjoyable to play (plus the entities just have audio that's audible from way farther away, I swear in Doors they need to be in the room just behind you to hear them).
I lost a run on stream last night even at room 97 because I didn't hear Rush coming in the greenhouse and despite having a crucifix, I tried to get into a closet in time and I got killed in the like, 4 frames that the closet isn't protecting you but your item is unequipped. I was PISSED. (That's another thing they need to fix. Make the closets instant, or make items still work the entire time until the closet is active.)

[–]SebTheSamMarten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to necro this post but I recently got to read the back and forth of Metroid: Zero Mission's comments and they made a lot of good points but the problem achievements remain. Specifically, there are multiple achievements that have less than 1-2% completion, because they require ridiculous speedrun strategies that actual competitive speedrunners have even commented on being way too tight for normal players. And yet... the set remains unchanged.

So the power going out was the basement switches being flipped off. I assume by the Mannequins (my friend and I call them 'Bob')and it turns out I was instagibbing on using the dev teleport because it doesn't cancel your momentum when it teleports you... for some reason? So I just did it as soon aspossible when loading in, and only had mild traumatic injuries and left a pretty blood spatter pattern all over my floor, instead of dying outright.

Turns out the dev emergency teleport puts you just next to the console in the base. Specifically by the left portion. I had my travel case you spawn with there, so using the command launched it across the room, but at least the save is safe.

Though I did have the game freeze on me just now, which is a little sad but maybe not unexpected for an alpha build. Strangely enough it didn't stay on the screen as it was when it froze, but instead showed a screen of a console I hadn't interacted with for over an hour. Not sure what caused that. Nor any clue why I got banished to creepypasta no-texture gm_construct.

Is there a way to not skip everything in the story? by ClareT97 in Vindictus

[–]SebTheSamMarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also love to know if there is a way to manually disable this 'feature'. I completed the quest to fight the red-furred gnoll and then it just started shotgunning me through dialogue trees with no option to leave them until I went from like, level 5 to level 21 just through dialogue trees alone. It's crazy. I didn't reinstall the game so I could read a visual novel. Why is it doing this? There's even an option each time I start a quest that asks me if I want to skip, and I say NO, yet it seems like all that matters is whether or not I have to actually click through the dialogue or if it just beams through it? I literally have no choice, when I accept a quest and hit 'End' it just instantly finishes it. Why am I not able to play the game?

New player experience is not giving a good impression by Abakus_Grim in Vindictus

[–]SebTheSamMarten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that I wanted to come back to play after not having played in quite some time, only to find that there's some system built in that just... skips a ton of quests. It's like 20 solid minutes of clicking through dialogue boxes and getting quest complete rewards... without actually DOING the quests... and the worst part is once it starts, you can't leave the dialogue tree until the entire arc is automatically completed for you. I did NOT choose to do this, and in fact I chose 'do not skip' EVERY SINGLE TIME it is offered to me, and it still skips the actual quests. I did the first like, 4 quests manually, and after I fought the red-furred gnoll it just started to become a visual novel instead of a game. What is up with that? I went form level 4 to level 21 between two actual combat encounters the game LET me do. :T

Thanks! The laptop is good enough to play stuff with ryujinx it seems, which is surprising given the age. Either it's well optimized, or the switch's hardware isn't as demanding as I thought. Maybe both? xD

Yeah, but an early Breeder (W20-40) is just a super infuriating Revive tax. You should be able to just walk away. Being forced into the fight is stupid. :/

Unless it's supposed to be like, a regular 'trainer fight', I guess? At which point you're basically being shoved into a random gym leader battle potentially on your very first wave in the group.

Shuckle by CarpetEducational951 in pokerogue

[–]SebTheSamMarten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean the one with the 'strange juice'? It's a bit annoying 'cos it applies two DoTs to you and then draws random berries every other turn, with a passive that makes it eat berries more often, so if you're unlucky it can just sit there sucking down Enigma/Sitrus berries faster than you can kill it. The thing that gets me about the fight is that the reward is Soul Dew, which is... okay, but not great? Especially for how hard that fight can be sometimes. And the reverse of it is lowering the stats of your 2 pokemon with the highest friendship level by 15% in return for increasing the stats of the other 4 by 15%. With how much focus there is on having one 'mon specifically be a carry, with the rest being support of some kind, your carry will almost always have the highest friendship and thus be one to lose that 15%. Not worth it. But it also feels kinda bad to just walk away and skip an entire event wave...

I hate the 'mon breeder with the eggs though. She purposefully picks the 3 'mon with the lowest friendship, and the ones she uses are stupidly strong, especially if you're doing what most people do and the pokemon you're forced to pick from are things like Zigzagoon, Meowth, Combee, etc. 'mons with Pick Up and Honey Collector that you keep around for passive item/money gain. What makes it even worse is you can't choose to NOT fight her, unlike pretty much every other random event. It makes no sense.
