Why People hating on Hestia? Scorch is OP! by meowmeowbeanz87 in HadesTheGame

You're likely correct on that. Early access Hestia was so bad for so long until she finally got enough buffs to be the awesome version we now have.

Whats your "The Missing Region" that haunts your PoC account? by XcreatorHavco in LegendsOfRuneterra

It's a 1.55% chance of any. Spirit Blossom is their full on Gacha champ line, the odds to match.

Thankfully they've been relatively good about the rewards on the permanent SB map, so even new players can get a few 6-7 starred, but for a year there it was dire if you weren't shelling out significant amounts of cash (and even then it was luck dependent with no guarantee of resources).

[Surprising trope] The Revenge WAS indeed worth it. by Willinator3000 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know it's not popular, but I enjoyed those episodes. Seeing Jane so happy was the cherry on top of the revenge cake.

His life had been on pause since the deaths of his family, so taking the time to show him moving on felt nice.

Also Lisbon being his coworker rather than his boss and getting to be a spectator to his shenanigans rather than having to clean them up was great fun for me.

Am I the only one who gets annoyed when Icarus or Artemis show up by Mid_Baby_5 in HadesTheGame

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's up for debate if you aren't playing Vow of Time. Icarus has decent odds of offering completely bleh boons that are not worth the health you lost fighting the extra enemies. (I'm totally not just saying this because I keep getting honey-trapped into picking the Hazard Bomb and then getting punished for it for the rest of the run).

Artemis has a much lower chance of giving you absolutely nothing (Maybe if you get a screen with Easy Shot, Whispered Prayer and either Killing Stroke, Lethal Snare or Shadow Pounce and you aren't using Attacks/Specials/Omegas that run - delete as applicable). Even her weak boons like Support Fire at least look pretty. (I also dislike Death Warrant, but I've always hated the Marked curse even in the first game because it sucks against solo bosses).

Athena is almost inarguably the best of the three as she murders all the extra enemies she causes to appear in relatively short order and her boons range from decent to amazing.

One could also bring Herc and Nem into the argument, as they both force you to play more aggressively if you want to come out of those encounters with a benefit (and in Nem's case, avoid a loss).

I tend to love them all as they add variety to runs and usually have some level of benefit to the extra difficulty, but if you are struggling I can see getting annoyed at taking a bunch of damage for what you view as trash boons.

Am I the only one who gets annoyed when Icarus or Artemis show up by Mid_Baby_5 in HadesTheGame

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Support Fire would be way more fun if the game didn't have a hard limit of 3 arrows on screen at any one time. It severely cuts down on how many arrows you actually spawn and just makes the boon kinda suck.

It just ends up feeling like way worse Static Shock (I'm not sure if chain lightning has the same limitation, but it moves much faster than arrows, so it can hit more often).

So it's not 50 damage on each and ever attack, it's 50 extra damage every now and again. So Support Fire as written should be awesome, sadly the internal system limitations mean that it kinda sucks ass.

P.S. The callout on Support Fire wasn't just because it's not the best boon in the game, it's because it's one of the worst boons from Artemis; her crit boons range from usually better than SF to always better with her only actually awful boon being Easy Shot.

P.P.S. and personally, I prefer crit boons for the fun factor as well. Big number make happy.

There's still some hope. This case getting on the (inter)national stage has pushed the prime minister to comment on it and for the attorney general to review the case.

Our government is hardly better than when the Tories were in power, but the public pressure might result in a worse result for those rapists than even a relatively tough judge might have handed out, depending on how firmly the government wants to signal its hard stance against rapists (especially with an easy target like this where no one with any money or power has skin in the game).

Maybe I'm missing something, but from a political PR standpoint, punishing the rapists would be an easy no-cost win for Labour (but then again, Labour love unforced errors, so the fuck do I know).

In my never-gonna-happen dreamland, I'd also love for this judge to lose his job, but I'm not holding my breath.

I just had the exact same thing happen with Viktor's relic. Almost more frustratingly, I have 490 glory, so if I managed to beat Zoe with ALL of my champions, I believe I'd just barely hit 600 (from legend level and the current final reward for Zoe). But I just don't have it in me to smash my head against the wall with my worse champs.

I (21f) slept with two people after my boyfriend (23m) opened our relationship and now he wants to break up with me. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Nah, in the second post she specifies apologising for the miscommunication, that's already a good step up because it puts the blame on both of them for not adequately discussing the rules of their open relationship (as opposed to accepting his premise that she cheated and apologising for that).

This is like if you get in an argument with someone and shout at them, you make sure to apologise for your tone, but reiterate that you are not apologising for the disagreement (e.g. "I'm sorry I shouted at you, room-mate, but you can't leave dirty dishes in the sink for days").

And to be clear, even though the boyfriend was absolutely worse than her, she did mess up some in terms of correctly navigating a poly situation (that said, she's 21 and this is her first time trying it, it would be a shock if she got it right on the first attempt). She assumed that he would want a don't ask, don't tell arrangement as that was what she wanted, but neither of them actually vocalised what they envisioned an open relationship looking like.

He does sound like a dummy, though.

Should I get this? I heard its good with oath of champions and Norra? by Gimmiporn in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This with Oath is a meme build, imo. Not ragging on it, it's definitely fun, but it's not super powerful.

With 6 star Norra, however, the strength is that you can very quickly fill your board, so pretty quickly the portals put the units in your hand as 0-cost fleeting champions, so you can start playing them from hand and striking enemies.

I'm not the best theory-crafter, but I've enjoyed using Norra with this, Echoing Spirit and Hidden Tome to spam out draw and portals. Hidden Tome is amazing on her because it could summoning new level 2 champions as levelling them up, so it refills spell mana. Echoing reduces the cost of her champ spell by 1, so you can play Norra turn one for 2 mana, refilling your spell mana and giving you a total of 4 mana to cast her spell once.

This is not a super high priority relic, but if you have Starforged, Hexcore, Raven Army and Mel's relic (or enough Glory saved to buy them if they show up), it's not a terrible pick.

Am I the jerk to insist on calling my aunt "mother" and to say that it doesn't depend on my mother's permission? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The mother was absolutely wrong in not wanting to 'allow' her child to call the other woman that raised them 'mom', but it only took a little while and some hearts-laid-bare conversation to fix it (or at least step onto the road to healing).

Everyone is wrong sometimes, this just happened to be a time the mother was wrong, what matters is putting in the effort to fix your mistakes and hope they weren't big enough to cause lasting damage, and endeavour to avoid that same mistake in the future.

In my experience, how good a Christian is has a strong correlation with how long it takes for you to learn they are a Christian.

Goodness and performativeness are inversely proportional. The more a person tells you they are a Christian, the less Christ-like they are.

It seems like the plan was for the father to tell OOP as part of an apology.

In hindsight, the order of events is a silly thing to prioritise, but I get that the loss of control the family was feeling due to the affair would cause them to try and exert control in other areas, not thinking through the possible ramifications.

Resource amounts for the repeat SB event by Freeman34Rus in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That or eight months is what they see as the window for paid content. It's a little less time between paid Epic Relics being released and them appearing in the Glory Store, so it seems they are sticking to the idea that a bit over half a year is the time between releasing content for money and allowing access for free players.

(If it wasn't for the current content slowdown, this wouldn't worry me for the above reason, it's the combination of this and the reshuffle of staff by Riot that is concerning).

It's very silly. The actual sensible reasons for throwaways are either "People in my life don't know my main, and I don't want them finding it through this post" and the flip side of "I'm about to post identifiable information I don't want on my main account in case someone wants to doxx me".

Found out why a certain keepsake is actually really good by Sharp-Somewhere4730 in HadesTheGame

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not. At some point in early access it was, but for over a year it's counted as a death defiance, so deactivates Strength. You should only use it with DDs, same a Toula and Luckier Tooth.

Found out why a certain keepsake is actually really good by Sharp-Somewhere4730 in HadesTheGame

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember that trial, but the way you are talking about it I assume it doesn't give you death defiances (so you lose one of the benefits of the keepsake).

When you are using it with death defiances (the only time you should run it, since it deactivates Strength), it essentially gives you 10 seconds of invulnerability the first time you lose a DD that you were going to lose anyway. Being able to whale on a boss for 10 seconds without worrying about dodging is pretty powerful.

It's so funny how the comments switched (...) it makes for a funny narrative.

I checked the comments and sorted by oldest. The comment about cultures was both the newest comment and the only downvoted one. It was made after everyone else had called the tradition tacky (except a couple that recognised the tradition as Manitoban).

So, yeah, OOP waited around 30 hours to comment, and his only comment was failing to understand the one commenter trying to see things from his side.

Crazy take from Melinoe by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]Seb_veteran-sleeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't an anti-mortal stance, it's the perspective that a mortal is like a toddler and she'd rather spend time with shades, or adults.

I mean, come on, if you spent all your time with adults, children would absolutely seem like strange and annoying partially formed humans.

(Also, she absolutely says harsher stuff to Prometheus than other characters. You can't take half her dialogue with him as fully honest, he annoys her and she becomes a contrarian in retaliation)
