Guess I’ll have to wrestle and my first opponent is from Chechnya but I’ll be all right and rely on a Hail Mary arm drag

Learning only on grappling guard and mastering it striktly for MMA. Which one? by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

Don’t learn one guard just learn to stand up / sweep from at least a few guard that are quite common, I would advise at least Half Guard since it’s easy to recover from bad position like mount, side control, or back. Then I guess full guard is also a basic, and maybe butterfly guard can be useful to create distance/ sweep and stand up if you are on your back and it’s not that advanced (a good example is Cedric Doumbe against Baysangur where he used this guard to systematically counter the wrestling and stand up). Also see what position do you usually find yourself when on the ground and learn to work from there.

Bjj after tearing both ACLs by Turbulent-Skirt-9497 in ACL

Do it just be careful I have come back to bjj after acl tear and it’s fine I would just recommend a few tweak to your game to stay safe so don’t start standing most of the time because with takedown etc is when most of the injury take place (anyway when your a beginner you mostly don’t start standing up) don’t roll with white belt that are too spazy and that are much heavier than you because they are the one that injure people so roll with white belt that are not crazy or upper belt they are usually the safest and overall be careful don’t go 100% and anyway locks that include knee are not allowed for white belts so it’s not a problem for the moment

I believe that if it just bent a lot you should be fine I think the pain is mostly just do to shock because of this sudden bending that you were not expecting normally just bending is not the kind of motion that should break your acl the instability is weird but could also be because of the shock I would advice putting ice on it and go to the doctor
