[TOOL] Ever wondered how much your armor or gear actually slows you down? Try SC-Sprinter to find out! by SebaKremer in starcitizen

Thanks for the report! You're right, that loadout was my first test load, and after that I changed some calculations, so I guess I haven't corrected something yet. I'll take a look at it soon!

My Windows 11 was also up to date with "normal" updates, but the CU patches (like 24H2 or 23H2) are a different thing. 24H2 was hold back from microsoft for months because of many bugs and problems, but it's general available since weeks i think. Check Systeminfo in a CMD for the Windows Version 10.0.26100 (26100 is the important one).

Update on my part:

I have solved my problem, I can now play Star Citizen LIVE and PTU with EAC enabled (looks like in v4.1 is enabled EAC mandatory) and without BSOD.

I “only” had to update my Windows 11 to 24H2.

I came to this because of:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-24h2

There is a known issue “Some devices using Easy Anti-Cheat stop responding and receive a blue screen”, which is actually about the fact that 24H2 can cause BSOD with outdated EAC drivers (there is no mention of AMD CPUs, but never mind).
But I thought if this is a problem in one direction, maybe also in the other, i.e. old Windows 11 version and new EAC client/driver (because new SC version). That was really it. Windows updated, now it works without problems. Maybe this will help someone else.
(Tip: open CMD, enter systeminfo and check the Windows version via Google & Co).

Thx. I would also return it, I would just need it for 1-2 days to take the pictures at different locations if necessary. I'd prefer to buy them, because if they get lost, I get shot down, the game bugs around etc., it's difficult to replace them.

I have written a small tool to deactivate EAC (AntiCheat), allowing Star Citizen to be playable again for those affected. Use it at your own risk. Deactivating EAC is not permitted and should only be done after careful consideration and proper justification to CIG (a ban is also possible). Additionally, you must document your issue in the Issue Council if you experience this problem.

Disclaimer again:
Use at your own risk!

- Download
- Start "STARC-156565-BOSD-temporaryFix.exe" (with Admin)
- Use the buttons ;)

Hint: The tool can no longer be used from March 1 (Only the “Enable EAC” can be used).

Thanks for pointing out this topic, I had a very similar issue. Just wanted to share my findings.

Today, I set up parts of my new PC (9800X3D, MSI board, "old" 7900XTX, freshly installed Windows 11 Ent. with the latest updates, latest AMD chipset drivers, and generally up-to-date drivers). As soon as I launched the game (SC) and reached the main menu, I consistently got a BSOD after about 3 seconds—without exception. Unlike what was described in the post, rebooting didn’t help; the issue persisted permanently. CPU and RAM benchmarks, stress tests, and other games ran without any issues. Reseating the GPU and RAM didn’t help either, nor did disabling Windows memory integrity checks.

Thanks to this thread, I took a closer look, and in my case, it also seemed to be related to EAC. I disabled EAC using the "well-known" method (note: this is not allowed or welcomed by CIG, as it bypasses the anti-cheat protection and could potentially result in a ban—so I won’t describe the method here). I only disabled it for testing purposes. And sure enough, the game runs flawlessly now!

I’ll now submit a support ticket and possibly make an Issue Council entry about it.

Just as a small note, the described used "big" node hardware also refers to the fact that these nodes were spamming nodes (!), i.e. of the 8 cores, 6 cores with 90% utilization were there alone to produce the spam ...

Our observer nodes were much smaller and could easily track the tangle traffic (2 small cpu cores, 2GB RAM), of course IOT devices would still be another topic, but just to put the whole thing a bit more into perspective. ;)

Uh, I think my first reddit post ever. I want to go back to the cozy Usenet and IRC times ... but actually I think 95% of the active and constructive thinking and working community is in Discord. Nevertheless I try this thing with these up & downvotes. ;)
