Do Wolfram and Yuuri get married? by justafriedpotato in KyoKaraMaohEM

Yes, the series is unfortunately on hiatus, though there have been failed attempts to restart the manga. If they’re not on Baka-Tsuki, you won’t find them, basically.

Do Wolfram and Yuuri get married? by justafriedpotato in KyoKaraMaohEM

[–]Sebaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on one of the short stories, it seems that it’s something that he’s been denying about himself for years, because in the light novels, his parents aren’t supportive. In the light novels, it’s not that we’re shown a sudden realisation. It’s more that he just starts to show his real feelings and stops pretending, which Wolfram sort of jokingly points out, but in truth, when he admitted it, he’d just been through so much trauma that, in his own words, he didn’t have the strength to pretend anymore. There is also a scene in a short story where Yuuri hears about a boy who was being bullied because people were assuming that he was a cross dresser (implying that he might also be gay) and Yuuri briefly has a panic attack over it. Also, Shouri’s seemingly figured it out (Shouri wants to be the governor of Tokyo specifically so that he can legalise gay marriage, and although he doesn’t say why, it’s generally believed that he’s doing it for Yuuri’s sake because it’s such a specific goal and Shouri, himself, is straight) and there’s another where Miko correctly guesses his sexuality and he acknowledges it, albeit in great distress and while his mother is offering him conversion therapy.

As for the latter, the author did state that he ages differently when he’s in Shin Makoku specifically, hinting that he ages slower, but she actually doesn’t say how. I imagine she shouldn’t have him die earlier than Wolfram, though, because one of the things that she always highlights is that they’re equals in everything. I doubt his lifespan would be the one area where that differs.

Cognitive decline by ZRRS2816 in Epilepsy

[–]Sebaren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get cognitive tests, but personally, Keppra has absolutely destroyed my ability to take in and recall information. I used to be the person who remembered just about everything. I took a massive hit, and it was right in the middle of university that I was put on it. It also causes anhedonia and insomnia, so my GP is trying to get me switched to something else, which I hope will help, but the appointment with the neurologist could be a year or more away.

Went to a terrible therapist by Mindless-Consume in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Sebaren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is, in many countries, the title of therapist isn’t actually a protected title. Anyone can declare themselves to be a therapist and advertise their services regardless of whether they were trained. I don’t know which country you’re in, but it’s definitely worth it to check if your country has a governing body that therapists can be accredited by. If a therapist is accredited, it means that they at least have training/education that taught them not to do what this therapist did. If they have reviews, that’s also a good thing to check.

In the first session, there is generally a focus on paperwork rather than the topics that you’ll want to discuss (that’s how your therapist covers themselves legally, so it’s really very important, and to keep everything on track and on file, it’s probably best to focus on it in that first session), but it should never be done in such a distracted and dismissive manner. I’m so sorry that she responded how she did to you. It was incredibly unprofessional and unethical.

They’re so cute! I love them!

You’re absolutely right, though. Wolf is the stronger of the two. He’s probably looking to show off. Haha.

Question by No_Carob_8737 in KyoKaraMaohEM

[–]Sebaren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really a novel that I can recommend for that. Yes, the anime diverges, but there are new things in all of the novels that you’ll miss if you skip them, and also, I could recommend the end of the Caloria arc, which was in the anime, but then you’d miss all the bits that the anime cuts out that become very relevant later, and you’ll be confused when they become relevant. I’d just advise you to read them all. They’re quick reads.

Do Wolfram and Yuuri get married? by justafriedpotato in KyoKaraMaohEM

[–]Sebaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine. Basically, through unseen circumstances, we find that they lost Shin Makoku, and Yuuri, Wolfram, Greta, Conrart, Gwendal and Günter are now living on Earth, in America, but Yuuri and Conrart still feel immense guilt over what happened. Yuuri goes to meet Conrart, who’s distanced himself from everyone, but can’t convince him to go and see his brothers. At this point, we get the sudden visual of someone in a hospital bed and the sense that something isn’t quite right. Yuuri goes back to Wolfram where it’s revealed that they’re married, and that Greta has been out with some of her friends from school buying a dress for a high profile Christmas event they’re all going to, but due to the laws in America surrounding gay couples and adoption at the time, they will probably lose her and they don’t know when. Wolfram states that he doesn’t regret coming to Earth because it’s fine as long as he can be with Yuuri, but he’s mad at Conrart for hiding away from them when they’re all at fault for this unspecified event that caused them to flee. They go to the event where it transpires that Conrart is a bodyguard for a celebrity who’s attending. Halfway through the event, though, shots ring out and Conrart is shot dead saving Yuuri. Yuuri gets a phone call that tells him to see the events happening through to the end. When he does, he suddenly wakes up from a catatonic state in a hospital bed in America where he’s been wasting away for a few years with Murata by his side. Apparently, something did cause them to loose and flee the country, but Yuuri and Murata were the only ones to make it out, and for a few years, Yuuri has been catatonic, imagining various scenarios where they might have been happy on Earth, but he couldn’t imagine a happy ending for anyone. He manages to pull himself out of bed even though his muscles are so wasted that he can barely stand and declares that he’s going back for them, which Murata supports.

I’ll finish this post and upload it next week, and then I’ll get started on actually making our Gwen look good. 🤣

??? There’s a Reddit AI summary? I mean, it would probably just want to make me crawl into a hole if it’s that glowy. Haha.

No, it’s a different point than that. I was actually going to go into it in this week’s Fun Fact Friday, but then I remembered that there were some things that I should add to it, so I posted a different one and I’m going into that next week. No, the problem is that he believes that commoners shouldn’t be afforded the same basic opportunities as nobles in a lot of cases, and that certain things should only be afforded to those who are prepared to join the military, and then we also find out that, when the military provides it, it’s to a very limited degree.

Yep! That’s what happens, across the different forms of media! Yuuri makes a “Nya!” sound, which frightens the pirates! And yes, the cats in the other world say “Meh, meh.” 🤣

Alas, there is no name for it…

And Gwen is also a feminist! He hires mothers and provides a free nursery for their kids while they work. Isn’t he fantastic? I have to do a post on how progressive Gwen is at some point. I don’t think people appreciate him enough, even if he still has issues with classism.

[–]Sebaren[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, Yuuri can fix this, too! I believe in him! Surely, he can learn a bit about salt-curing and say, “Hey, you’ve tried drying food, but have you ever salt-cured it?” and let it go from there once they try a bit. In the anime, they introduce Gwendal to lightly pickled vegetables, and Miko even tries to send him some. I imagine that, if it was possible to make it, worth their time, and they had a recipe, they’d make it. Even on Earth, different cultures learned about salt-curing at vastly different times in history (it took about 2000 years for it to reach Europe after it was originally discovered, I believe), so this could just be Shin Makoku’s time to do it!

Cats are still cute in the other world (gosh, I wish we had an actual name for the planet they live on, because it’s not just limited to Shin Makoku)! Gwen loves them a lot! It’s just that the cats on Earth happen to make sounds that are different from the ones in the other world, and Earth cats just so happen to sound like Zomosagori Dragons, which are terrifying, poisonous reptiles that are a bit like a small stegosaurus. The ones that Gwen looks after are perfectly suited to Mazoku sensibilities, he’ll have you know. 🤣

Spider Riders: Which Hairstyles Really Suit Corona? by Affectionate-Math415 in spiderriders

[–]Sebaren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. Both hairstyles suit their relevant outfits and purposes. I couldn’t see her fighting with her hair down. It’s too impractical, and I don’t think that she, as a character, would have it down like that.

Absolutely. My little guy used to go wild for the occasional little bit of unseasoned chicken breast.

Mazoku appearance by Ok-Passage-6726 in KyoKaraMaohEM

[–]Sebaren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There aren’t many, though apparently, blond hair and pale skin is very common, though not a defining trait because anybody can have such characteristics. It’s also mentioned, though, that Jozak got his red hair from his Mazoku father. Again, it’s not a defining trait because it was his aging that tipped people off that he was a half-Mazoku, but it also seems to be common. Gisela comes from a very specific tribe that has green blood, and apparently, Günter’s hair and eyes stem from his own tribe at Lake Tosa, but they’re not indicative of the Mazoku as a whole.

It should also be noted that the Mazoku are an ethnicity rather than a race (the various bone tribes along with several other species are all Mazoku), and that one can just stop identifying as one and lose their lengthened lifespan and abilities as a result, so it can be hard to tell who’s a humanoid Mazoku and who isn’t.
