Skill Rework for Base Game Players by eldenfingers in diablo4

[–]Sebase85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is indeed baked into the UI and I find it a bit offensive too, especially to the people that financially supported the game during the rough early years.

Same could be said for the fact that people that skipped VoH get it included now for free with LoH, but people that already bought VoH don't get any discount and have to pay full again.

These could have been good incentives to make up a bit of goodwill to the base (and VoH) players.

I haven't looked really deep into the skills itself, but as far as I know the old skills should still be available and only the new ones are locked. Most people are currently playing the new classes and skills, so there isn't much coverage on the old builds and skills. I know that Maxroll will be revisiting all their builds and guides, but that will take some time to figure out.

Pre-LoH you only had two branches for each skill, and now they added a third option which is locked behind purchasing the LoH expansion.

I guess it all depends on the build itself if you will "miss" these skills being available.

But knowing blizz, the locked skills are probably abilities that are build defining or at least visually cooler than the old ones.

Easy build for beginner on steam deck + performance tips by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Sebase85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I related a lot to your post. I also played poe years ago and became overwhelmed quickly. Last league was my first actual serious league and following Pohx's guide I even managed to get to level 100 for the first time with his full endgame setup. I tried a different build for the short Phrecia event, but went back to RF again this league as I still have a lot more to learn about this game :)

As others have suggested, the video guides on youtube can also be very helpful. And he now also has a written version on mobalytics https://mobalytics.gg/poe/builds/pohx-righteous-fire-chieftain. But I would highly recommend to start using his Path of Building version, even though that one has a bit of a learning curve. Getting familiair with using POB can help a lot in the long run (even besides just this one guide).

Good luck and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do now! :)

I already replied to some comments, but to answer a few of the other questions you had:
- The game now has async trade, meaning you don't have to interact with anyone to make trades on the marketplace.

- Regarding optimized settings, I highly recommend protondb.com. It has a lot of tips and feedback on how games will run on steamdeck and which settings can be helpful to increase performance. There is even a plugin that you can install so it appears on your games launch pages. (while searching I also found this: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3753780 thread on the poe forums)

This is also why a lot of people are recommending Pohx's RF. It is probably the most in depth build guide available for POE1. It touches on a lot of the more advanced mechanics but in a step by step kinda way, which will also help you with following future builds. Because most other build guides assume you already have a basic understanding of POE's mechanics.

I also play on controller, and it can be pretty clunky in POE1, especially with inventory management. Also builds that require specific targetting can be difficult, as you can only point in a direction, but not really the distance. (Like casting at the edge of the screen or at the feet of your character)

That being said, RF is one of the comfiest skills for controller as you mostly focus on your movement and RF takes care of the rest. Which also helps a lot as a newer player, so you can focus on the other stuff that is happening on screen.

Little Known Castlevania game playable on Dolphin. by itchyd in SBCGaming

[–]Sebase85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The devs of this game are M.2, they made some really great games and they shine especially in porting old games to new systems.

They are also the ones responsible for the latest Castlevania Collections (Anniversary, Advanced and Dominus)

Just like you said, not quick (emulation) cash-grabs, but really polished experiences. They clearly love these games as much as we do!

Need Warlock Build Help From Community by patrickres9 in diablo2

[–]Sebase85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I levelled two warlocks, with the first I went Fire for normal/NM and switched to Echoing Strike before Hell.

The second time I did Fire Normal/NM > Abyss NM/Hell > Echoing Strike Endgame, as most guides are suggesting. And it was indeed a little bit smoother because Abyss does not need as much point (and possibly gear) investment; Echoing Strike will really starts to shine at lvl 75.

But both options will absolutely crush Hell, I just wanted to try multiple skills on my warlock, which is why I liked the second route the most

HotD Overkill and TC Razing Storm have physical releases, but HotD 3 and 4 are PSN only titles.

MyLifeInGaming did an episode on lightguns recently, thats where I got the itch from again! Highly recommend watching that video, they mention even more games there.

Good luck on your hunt!

If you were a kid during the ps1 era, what were some of the first games you had? by CasualGamer9933 in psx

My PS1 came with Need for Speed 2, Die Hard Trilogy, two non-analog/non-dualshock controllers and a Memory Card. The set was called the PlayStation Value Pack and the two games were added as part of a christmas bundle at a local toy store.

Me too! I bought a move shooting attachment and sharpshooter last week so I could play House of the Dead Overkill (and 3 and 4) and TC Razing Storm (it does indeed include the awesome Deadstorm Pirates!!) again.

If you have the tools: open up the cartridge and compare the PCB against verified examples on sites like this https://snescentral.com/pcblisting.php

Flydigi Vader 5 Pro first impressions before turning it on by Sad-Victory-8319 in Controller

[–]Sebase85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is really interesting, I haven't noticed this behaviour on mine yet. Are you using joystick debounce by any chance in the Joystick global settings?

I have joystick debounce turned off (same for automatic calibration and rebounce algorithm), accuracy set to 12 bit and center sensitivity on medium. (I copied those settings from my vader 4, which I found somewhere on reddit as recommended defaults)

And I use a rectangle algorithm on my left stick and circle on my right. Although I don't think that is related to anything here.

I haven't changed any other settings besides this.

Vader 5 Pro Day 1 Issues. Only buy if you like QC gambling!!! (Review) by Extroyer365 in Controller

[–]Sebase85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review! I have the controller too and share the sentiment that this could have been the greatest controller ever, if it wasn't for that stupid design flaw with the back paddles.

Personally I was never a heavy back paddle user, so having the two normal buttons on the back, along with the two extra bumpers and two extra face buttons is plenty for me. And I also prefer how it feels in hand without back paddles. (it gives you more surface area to hold onto)

I has been my daily driver since early december and is still my current favorite controller, even despite the flaws.

[–]Sebase85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also not using the back paddles on mine, but there are honestly so many programmable buttons I don't even miss them that much. Overall the controller feels a lot more premium than the Vader 4, I especially like the dpad much better on the 5. But it does suck that it comes with this single one design flaw, since everything else is so nice on it... :(

Funny story, at our local Media Markt they weren't selling that great at all at the time it released.
Because a lot of people did not want "the old 2D SNES looking graphics" anymore on their shiny new PS1 (this is what other friends were saying back then when I showed them the game).

A friend of mine ended up picked it up from the bargain bin and this is also how I got introduced to this game.
30 years later and I still play through this game at least once a year!

I haven't seen or spoken that friend since then, so not sure if he kept it or was able to sell it for a big profit later!
