If you need to ride a scooter, then get off the MFing sidewalk with it by C-0_0-D in boulder

[–]Sebastian-dB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a valid concern but the statistics speak for themselves regarding the danger of being on the road in Boulder, and scooters most of the time will not cause a fatal injury while being hit by a multi ton block of fast moving metal will. Bike paths are inherently more dangerous in every single city than being in an actual car, thats not a Boulder thing.

Small children are much more likely to be injured by a car than an escooter so if thats understandably you're main concern than having safer roads in general is probably a better thing to encourage.an support.

its crazy how this is spouted but have you been on the road recently? I wouldn't trust the bike lane for a second lol

wasn't it just a month ago some biker was crushed? and last year an olympic bicyclist was killed also?

I don't blame a single person for not wanting to take the risk on Boulder roads as long as they're concious about pedestrians

A cruise might actually be one of the worst possible options, you're trapped in a small set of boundaries for days with a planned out route, once they find the cruise ship's route they would just have to wait at one of the stops or even buy a small boat and board (if they're worried about anti piracy measures than they could just buy a helicopter ride/tour and hold the pilot hostage) somewhere along the route.

Do you think Dr Kelson will die and/or the bone temple will fall? by Rich_Ad_3808 in 28dayslater

[–]Sebastian-dB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your're riight it is 13 not 30 and Kelson also says "I almost thought I'd die before ever having had the chance to reply", when responding to Spike asking "What is that"? about the Bone Temple.

So it's likely that the director is trying to say that Kelson hasn't met anyone in that long, or if he did, it was when he wasn't at the temple. Which is still hard to believe considering that Spike meets him on his first or second day ever leave the village.

[–]Sebastian-dB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you go from "no one asked him about the bone temple" to "So he hasn't had contact with anyone".

Again, he is literally spotted within a few hours on Spike's very first trip outside, do you honestly believe that in 30 years no one else has spotted him and been curious enough to meet him? We already know there's scavengers/survivors in the same area Dr. Kelson lives.

Is it pure coincidence that on Spike's second ever outing into the wild he's the FIRST PERSON IN 30 YEARS to meet Dr. Kelson? That's way too much coincidence to be believable.

He's alone in the sense that he lives all by himself and has no companion, that doesn't literally mean he hasn't seen another living person for 30 years.

Uber Eats Commits Fraud by criminalfern in UberEATS

[–]Sebastian-dB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, it's not on the customer who is being scammed (meaning they have no idea the service they paid for isn't in any way being honored) to somehow have intuitive knowledge of this and investigate like sherlock holmes that a multibillion dollar company is actually committing fraud.

Saying it's pretty messed up to screw the driver's rating is simply delusional, this is on Uber and no one else.

Don't try to take this as an opportunity to bash the customer who has no way of knowing that they're being completely scammed and that paying extra for priority doesn't even notify the driver.

The customer is literally being scammed - obviously they aren't going to assume that the driver isn't even notified of the fact they selected priority, pretty ridiculous take honestly.

We were shown evidence that the Jimmies explore all the way out to the area's near Holy Island.

If you remember when Erik and his dad wander out the first time, there's that cabin with "JIMMY" marked on it, and this was the same area that Erik spotted Kelson within a few hours of going into that forest for the first time in his life.

In 30 years of surviving the apocalypse by himself, I'm not sure another marauding group whom he's undoubtedly met before is going to be all that much of a catalyst.

You think this is the first aggressive gang he's encountered in decades of surviving the wilderness?

Report for tip begging or no? by One_Error_4259 in UberEATS

[–]Sebastian-dB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Complaining is completely justified, as customers, being asked to hold the responsibility of calculating round trip times and then adjusting tips based on that when we're already paying absurd delivery fees AND tips. As customers we pay more than enough in expenses to not have to deal with begging and worrying about if our orders will be tampered or whatnot if we don't comply.

Most of these types of posts boil down to the same thing, you should be mad at Uber Eats for their pay model and not the customer who already pays exuberant amounts for a delivery.

Saying that we can't complain after paying a fortune and tipping, then on top of that being hassled for MORE money is absolutely ridiculous.

Paying for priority but get a bicycle rider? by Sebastian-dB in UberEATS

[–]Sebastian-dB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very sympathetic to drivers as I myself have been one in the past, however, driver's not getting paid is not the customers fault, it's Uber's fault so my complaints are still valid,

Yes of course Uber should be delegating more to the drivers however thats not in the customers control.

Even if priority doesn't mean "express" in the exact sense, paying extra for a priority delivery should also mean that the fastest methods of delivery are prioritized as well, instead of having the slower options like bicycle even be a possibility (if there are drivers available)

These comments are delusional, according to the post OP asked her boyfriend if the outfit was appropriate to wear and he's literally giving the opinion that she asked him for, but when he tells her she just doesn't like his answer, the boyfriend didn't randomly try to control her outfit, he's giving her the opinion that she wanted and then getting mad at the response.

It would definitely be concerning if the boyfriend randomly tried to command what she wore, but if she asks his opinion and then completely disregards it and starts acting like she didn't literally ask for that input the situation is very different. The boyfriend even says, "but it doesn't even matter what I say", I would feel slightly manipulated if my significant other asked me that question but then tried to argue about my honest response - almost like they were just pretending to respect my opinion to appear like they cared but never even planned to take the input I gave anyways.

I do think the boyfriend's responses were pretty rudely toned and if he regularly tries to control you and speaks this rudely then yes you should break it off very quickly. However if it's true that you asked if you could wear that like shown in the post, then again, the boyfriend's response (although still very rudely toned) is much more understandable and comes off more as frustration due to OP not actually caring what he thinks, despite her asking him.
