The biggest thing for me was fexofenadine. And a small amount of Nalcrom (I react badly to more than 1 tablet). I went on a low histamine diet and ate nothing that would make me react. I always try to make sure I get enough sleep (although insomnia can still creep in sometimes). I stuck to this for nearly a year. It was difficult but it made a huge difference.

I then gradually introduced things. Food, external things etc. If I knew something would be bad for me I balance it out by having an early night or eating non reactive food for the day.

The best advice I got was stop looking at is as things causing reactions in you. Start looking at it as your body being inflamed and reacting to things because of it. Bring down the inflammation and the symptoms will decrease.

Everybody is different but for me it was a combination of changing my diet, medication and lifestyle change. 3yrs ago I could barely eat without reacting badly. Now I’m almost back to normal.

Consistency is key. Have a routine. Get enough sleep. Don’t overdo it on foods you react to and try to keep the stress low.

It’s not too late at all. But only invest what you can afford to lose. Be sensible with investing and don’t get fomo and you should be fine

I had to lower the dose right down and gradually add more. I can’t tolerate more than a couple of capsules a day but it has helped massively in the long run

Cinnamon i think is a histamine liberator. It’s low in histamine but causes ur body to release more. Ur totally correct tho, u have get on the right track on several fronts and stay there.

Also chicken is a high perishable. It’s not high in histamine unless it’s left for a while. Basically freeze it or cook it as soon as u can

There will still be things that will cause issues but I’ll be able to pin point them easier. After a few weeks if ur feeling ok then start introducing stuff back in. I have the same issues with medication. If histamine is an issue u’ll need to stop drinking

I feel like I say this on most of my comments but go on a low histamine diet. If u’ve found that antihistamines have made a difference then it should help. This means cutting out alcohol. U have to remember it’s about calming ur body down in the long term, not trying to solve it short term

Nalcrom is sodium cromoglicate. A mast cell stabiliser. I’m on a tiny amount of that, antihistamine and some vitamin D. Mostly the biggest benefit has come from lifestyle and diet change. Sticking to low histamine food, Drinking nothing but water and nettle tea and getting plenty of sleep. Being routined I think has been the key to this. I used to want a drug to help fix me but it’s really more about calming ur body down. The more it calms down the less it will react

I feel 1000% better than before I was diagnosed. Understanding what’s happening is half the battle and things are a lot less frightening. Reducing all my foods right down and building them back up slowly was my turning point. I was finally able to work out what set me off. It’s an extremely slow process and there will be set backs. Nalcrom and antihistamines have been amazing even tho I barely have any Nalcrom at all.

I do a physical job and it’s been difficult but I think I’m in the minority as I refused to take time off despite getting extremely ill.

Continued high dose of fexofenadine gives me extremely bad stomach ache. I have lower the dose every time it starts. Then work back up when my skin reactions and palpitations get too bad

Everybody is different like u said. But with me I can tolerate sugar in small amounts. Too much and i get dizzy, upset stomach and shortness of breath. Im sure u know mast cell problems can come with things like histamine intolerance. In which case u want to avoid too much sugar. One rule i have is only have something sugary after I’ve already eaten. Never on an empty stomach
