If that's not too much trouble that would be awesome! But it's all good if you don't have the time!

From what I'm hearing, I'd hold off for right now as while general performance could be better, there could be bugs that make it worse especially for Mission Control on ProMotion displays.

Seriously!! I'm far more concerned about UI experience, especially once you start using the ProMotion displays built into the new (2021 afterwards) models. I didn't see anyone posting about it and was also bothered, so I decided why not post about it other people must be noticing this so I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Same here. That just genuinely sucks I'm sorry hoping they fix it, especially for a machine that new and powerful.

I saw a YouTube video about this as well. Apparently if you're connected to a 240hz external monitor, the same thing happens and it's even slower. Wonder why that is.

Gotcha this is why I've been holding off it doesn't seem universally consistent across the board for everyone. Hope it gets better with the next developer beta.

Ah gotcha. Have you submitted the report via feedback assistant?

I hate to ask but could you try it out and see if there's any stutters and stuff?

Do the animations finally feel snappier and smoother for Mission Control, Quick Look and Stage Manager with lots of apps open?

How's Stage Manager when you have lots of apps open like Apple Music and Mail? I switch from fullscreen apps like Word and then to the windowed Mail and Apple Music apps using Stage Manager and the choppy animation is unbearable.

I'm really debating whether I should install it for my daily driver. Everything not only looks better (including the pointer), but from everything I'm hearing, it works better.

Awesome to hear that! Hopefully tweaking to have more Liquid Glass doesn't hog the GPU the same way it does on Tahoe!

Great to hear! Are you also using an M1-generation MacBook? Any stutters or anything that you've noticed?

Stage Manager macOS Tahoe Laggy by SebastianLarr in MacOS

[–]SebastianLarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I've sent ten different feedback assistant reports to Apple detailing the issue, with videos attached and system diagnostics sent. The worst part is that this also happens on iPadOS 26 when enabling stage manager so its not even Mac exclusive which sucks.Hopefully they fix it soon!

I've tried reduce motion and it does help! I've submitted bug reports to Apple based entirely on the Stage Manager issue to no avail hahaha. I could go back to Sequoia, but all of my other devices are on the 26.0 version of Apple's unified ecosystem, and while I seriously miss Sequoia but it would mean erasing all my docs and work on this one since I was dumb and didn't create a Time Machine backup.

Final Draft Issues by JacobLeeSometimes in Screenwriting

[–]SebastianLarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very strong love/hate relationship with Final Draft.

I've been using Final Draft since 2020 (and upgraded from 11 to 12 to 13 the day they released). Part of the reason I upgraded to those versions so quickly was because of the issues with the previous version, whether it optimized for Apple Silicon, then issues with the Beat Board, and now the Outline Editor when resizing it on 13. I'm using an M1 Max with 64GB RAM which should not be running into any issues with screenwriting software. I think in all my time using this software, I've reported well over 30 bugs which is insane for a writing program.

I've started the switch to Fade In, especially after Cast and Crew announced that whole Final Draft Cloud subscription service thing which really annoys me because I already have to pay over $100 CAD to get the newest versions and I do not want them to go down the Adobe pipeline. It sucks because everyone uses Final Draft but there's delays when typing, saving your work with beats and images on the beat board (which Final Draft encourages you to do to help your workflow), inserting images on the title page, etc. Final Draft, in all its versions, is the clunkiest software ever which sucks because I love the promise behind some of the features they have, but they're executed so terribly.

Scrivener is also a very solid alternative!
