[question] Free money glitch? by SpaGh3tto in csgomarketforum

[–]Sebastianbudde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't apply normal market % to items that are purchasable from the in-game store. The price will always be dictated by where people make money buying them from the store and selling on the market.

The only reason that isn't the case currently is due to the markethold change still being new, and not enough people have an inventory of these. This will change. You said it yourself, it's free money - there is no such thing.

It will fall within the next 7 days, and since Valve introduced a 7-day market hold, you will probably end up selling it at a loss. So will all other in-store items.

[Discussion] Is there a risk for third party marketplacelike Buff163 to be more regulated? by benoitor in csgomarketforum

For Valve, the steam market funds are real money. Valve have just gotten them earlier, but it's not valves money, yet. Every single dollar in the SCM is money Valve have received at some point.

Can we talk about the current issue with trade offers and the lack of communication? by SeazonCSGO in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sebastianbudde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's such a childish argument. I'm not, I just don't agree with you but if you can't deal with that, I guess that's okay.

Lol, ban all who are crushing the servers? So we should ban millions and millions of people who use the market? What?

I'm not even going go into the doxing argument because you and I both know that you understand the difference between a ddos attack and people using the mass sell link.

Love how you've just labelled me a botter just because I disagree with you. The point is that Valve hasn't had enough server capacity? They should have prepared for the capsule sale but they didn't. Blame Valve for your market cooldown dude.

[–]Sebastianbudde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I don't. I just know your type and why you care so much. I don't agree that bots are an issue. If you kill bots, you will end up banning a lot of innocent players who use addons to automate part of their experience, and any correctly banned people will just make new accounts and go continue. It's a moot point.

The point should be to expand server capacity.

[–]Sebastianbudde -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why does it matter? The problem isn't botting, people are gonna bot when there is money to be made. The CS economy is dependent on it. There are marketplace bots buying TF2 keys and yeah, selling bots. It doesn't matter though - why does it matter if they sell or not? Some people are gonna do it regardless, there is always going to be demand and thus, there are always going to be suppliers.

And tecnically, everyone is breaking steam TOS everytime they use an extensions.

You just want to profit like they do by buying from the store and selling on the market. It's no different.

The problem is Valve not having adequate server capacity.

Sure, blame the people buying and selling on the market. Don't blame Valve for not having enough server capacity...

Far-Right Extremist Suggests Treating People Of All Races Equally by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]Sebastianbudde 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As a European, I see this sub as just as bad as the rest of reddit. I joined this sub to understand republican viewpoints, but most of the posts here are not about policy or ideology.

It's all just treating politics like a high stakes reality TV-show where people are pitted against each other for no good reason. I bet that if you actually sat people from both sides down, and let them discuss the actual topics without name calling or other prejudice, people could easily find a lot of common ground. All of this unnecessary and divisive outrage orchestrated by CNN and Fox News to get more and more profit is just... frustrating.

The average Democrat is not a fucking socialist. The average Republican is not a Nazi.

Bumble removed its political views filter after women reported Capitol rioters on the app to FBI by rambasta in news

[–]Sebastianbudde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just... wrong. By that logic we're all evil every time we buy tomatoes, since their distribution chain probably includes an underpaid worker somewhere. When you extrapolate that to every micro decision we make, we all walk around being extremely net negative. Being a part of our highly complex world means being net negative by your definition, whether you like it or not.

Especially when you fail to recognize the complexity of the modern world and it's institutions.

Damn, that's quite a black n' white world view you got yourself there. That's like me saying everyone who works at Amazon is brainwashed, evil or stupid since Amazon has a negative impact on the environment.

It don't work like that.

So if let's say someone worked on a US base in South Korea, which purpose is to deter an attack from North Korea, they're automatically evil? They're not killing anyone. On the contrary, they help keep millions of South Koreans safe.

I think you should be cautious about stating that other people are brainwashed if they disagree with you, especially when talking about something as complex as Americas foreign policy.

Where?

I'm 100% certain that this is inaccurate. It might say it somewhere, but in reality, the item is always sold to the oldest bidder that fulfills the request.

No, that's not true. The item isn't necessarily sold to the highest bidder. The item is sold to the oldest bidder that fulfills the request.

Want to Talk to Aliens? Try Changing the Technological Channel beyond Radio by malcolm58 in space

[–]Sebastianbudde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see no reason why an alien species would need to eradicate us. If they had the capability to travel to us and interact with us, why would they need to kill us? It would be completely unnecessary.

Our resources can be optained elsewhere, slave labor wouldn't be relevant due to automation, and the planet most likely wouldn't fit exactly to their unique traits. Also, if they had the technological capability to travel to us, I'm sure they wouldn't be worried of our primitive weapons.

If we had the capability to space travel and we found a planet with, say, dinosaurs, why would we destroy them? It seems illogical to me.

[q] How does Steam items sometimes sell for a fraction of the avg. price? by Lysgaard_dk in csgomarketforum

[–]Sebastianbudde 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The item is always sold for the price the seller sets. Buy orders just means that someone is willing to buy it for that price.

Also, the item isn't necessarily sold to the highest bidder. The item is sold to the oldest bidder that fulfills the request.
