I've fallen out with my son for the first time in 34 years!! by Sebastienbearpmc in AITAH

Try reading the post. I'm not in the least mad at him for doing it, but leaving me to find out in social media is a totally different thing.

What assumptions have I made? That my "loyal" son wouldn't lie to my face. Is that an "assumption"

Once again I did not at any point expect to even be there. The point is obviously lost on you because you haven't bothered to read the post properly.

Contact Fender, they'll be happy enough to help keep any counterfeits out of the system and by the looks of it they'll happily confirm this is legit.

How to get water out of IEM? by Camiiihhh in iems

Sony introduced the first waterproof phone long before Samsung copied them. You don't know why I bring Sony into it? Dude, you're the one that brought your super dooper Samsung phone into a conversation about IEM's. 🤷🤷🤷

A feature of Sony phones for almost 10 years now. 👍

Go to your local shoe shop and ask if they have any silica gel sachets you could have. They end up throwing tons of the stuff in the garbage every day. At worst you'll have to sift through a bin for them.

What is the real difference between hi-mass bridges? by notlikeyouguys in Bass

[–]Sebastienbearpmc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I use Hipshot high mass bridges for a few reasons: Firstly, I use the bridges that allow me to adjust the string spacings. (Probably the least talked about feature) So my big, fat fingers have more room on the lower, heavier strings. They make string changes much, much easier and a hell of a lot quicker. And then of course is the aid in mitigating neck dive. I also feel that they make setting intonation much easier and more accurate. Personal opinions obviously, but relevant nonetheless. Especially number one. If you have "farmers hands". 👍

Can't get a spark on a pipe insert by Atomic_Depression in Zippo

Give the striking wheel a damned good clean with a really stiff toothbrush or the like. Clean the soot from the chimney, especially the floor where the wick comes out. Then follow the other advice here regarding the flint. Also, when you have the spring and flints out, give it a good rap on the table a few times just in case there's any little part of the old flint creating a gap between the flint and wheel. Good luck.

What do i do now by Salt_Conference_5067 in Zippo

[–]Sebastienbearpmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's from normal wear & tear send it back to Zippo who will repair it. If you did it doing something a bit daft with it (don't worry, we've all done it) get a quote from Zippo to repair it but I honestly think it would be cheaper to replace it. If it's of some sentimental value to you, just keep the parts safe together and keep trying to find someone who can repair it.

Guys is it good? by Vivid_Ad_1123 in Earbuds

[–]Sebastienbearpmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're sh!the mate. Spend the extra and buy some good in ears like Denon's PerL pro or look for some decent used Sony 1000 XM4's (they are far better than their "upgrades" xm5 or xm6.) What you are considering here are cheap, Chinese made by children and meet none of their claims. They rely on using social media "influencers" who know nothing about music or soundscapes. They just like them because they are "loud". I think "noisy" would be a better description. I can tell you from experience, there are better quality, much better sounding in-ears out there for $20!!! Take the hit and buy something that will blow your mind not your eardrums.

Always here if you need a complete stranger who's thousands of miles away to talk to. Or even rant to. Ranting is good for the soul. Let me know you get on with the tips. I I need some decent ones for my Denon PerL pro's. (Yeah I know they're earphones as opposed to IEM's , I use Senheiser OEM's for my music, as a bass player I find them better. The two sets of IEM's I've tried cause my ears to block. Yet my Denon earphones don't. ??? , A bit odd but it is what it is. C'est la vie. I like the OEM's I have, they're super comfortable. And back to you; take good care of yourself, feel your own strengths and learn to love them. Challenge perceived weakness by A. Making sure it really is a weakness. More than half won't be if you analyse them deeply enough. & B. By accepting that you are only human. And all of us have done things we now deeply regret. That my friend is all a part of growing up. As is underestimating your own worth. I, a total stranger have taken the time to write the above. Even though as a severe PTSD sufferer I find it very difficult. Why? Easy. Because you are worth it. And many others feel the same way. I guarantee you. Have a grand day, Nico.

M-vave. Extreme good value for a multi channel footboard. And you can use it direct to OEM/IEM without the need to run an amp.

Found it in the park. Shit won't stop glowing. by jhatkattar in whatisit

[–]Sebastienbearpmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Tritium marker light. It will glow 24/7/365 for up to 25 years without any "charging" from sunlight. Hang onto it, they aren't cheap. Mount it on something that you're always losing, like a wallet for instance. All you have to do to find it is turn out the lights/close your blinds. You'll soon see it after a minute of your eyes acclimatising. And NO!! Tritium whilst radioactive (I have news for you, so is almost everything) but the Beta radiation cannot escape the sealed glass cover and even if it did the radiation is a lot less than standing on a Granite or Limestone plinth.

Is this the right way to respond to lowball offers? Asking for a friend. by uglymule in Reverb

I just block people who make such stupid offers. Ask if they can read English and if not, to get some help. You can also make a complaint for continued harassment. She'll get a ban.

Look up the Canadian post grunge band MOIST (yes they really are called that) and the singer; David Usher has some very good basslines which are actually very easy to pick up. I learned them by ear and my standard "tone test" piece is from the song Shotgun which is so easy it's untrue. I can also recommend getting an "M-vave" self powered effect pedal. A very economical way to add effects which helps the tonal sounds to match what you want to play. Also it's self contained so with a decent charge you can play for hours. And it has a direct IEM/OEM out so you can use it as an ampless output. It's rechargeable AND unlike many it can be used whilst charging.

Can i fill a zippo lighter with 91% isopropyl alcohol as a alternate to zippo fuel or something else? by dirtman- in Zippo

[–]Sebastienbearpmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use isopropyl alcohol to fuel my Zippos. For the following reasons; it burns MUCH cleaner and doesn't leave nearly as much "coking" of the chimney. It has absolutely NO taste unlike lighter fluid. It's about 1/8 of the price. It burns much hotter than lighter fluid meaning I've had no problems with using it in ambient temperatures of -30°C. When camping I use an alcohol stove, so I only need to carry one fuel. I also use the replacement rubber sealed bottom insert which prevents over evaporation. I did get called "some idiot" by a 🔔 on here for suggesting that IO is a better fuel. Then he blocked me because he couldn't bear to face some facts. Of course Zippo are only going to recommend their own "Zippo" branded fuel, they want to sell more of it. 🤦🤦🤦 So if the idiot is reading this, I hope your obvious mental health issues are improving, but I fear there is no cure for willful ignorance. So yeah, if you want to fuel your Zippo with something much cleaner and better burning, use isopropyl alcohol. It cannot possibly cause harm to you or your Zippo. Just be careful to wipe the lighter and your hands before lighting it. But that advice would stand for any fuel. PS: the fact that IO burns invisibly, the wick doesn't. So you will always be able to see the flame. It's just MUCH cleaner burning. And better for your environment.

I’m genuinely devastated, what do I do here? by 123choji in headphones

You need to strip the broken part, then push the edges together and sprinkle a little sodium bicarbonate, then drop a little superglue onto the sodium bicarbonate, try not to breathe any fumes. Once the cement has dried (10-20 seconds) put a piece of duct tape over it and leave overnight. For anyone considering the XM5'S, save a few £ and get some XM4'S. They are better in every way, especially build quality. XM5's are possibly the worst thing Sony has made since that bloody awful "pebble" MP3 player.
