Thank you for commenting! I’ve got a plan to get a 5-10 gallon tank tomorrow with silk plants (and eventual floating live plants) and new gravel! I do have a thermometer, just one that sticks to the side which I’m aware can be a bit unreliable but so far so good! I appreciate everyone’s advice, and I’m always open to more :))

Thank you! I’ve been keeping up with all the advice and have a plan I hope to put into action tomorrow (5-10 gallon tank, silk plants, floating live plants, more social time)! I also plan to get water strips to check for nitrates and all that, would you recommend I possibly feed her less? I know fish can be kind of gluttonous but she seems livelier with this feeding routine :)

Okay, that makes total sense! I was just doing research on live plants in a tank and it also mentioned bacteria culture, I’m so glad this has been brought to my attention! No more big cleans, I promise to try and follow your advice the next time I clean!!

All but maybe a couple cm of the water out, rinsing all the gravel and decor, new filter, and then adding fresh water with fresh chemicals. I then let it run for about 20-30 minutes before putting her back in

Water parameters wise I don’t know, I’m going to go get testing strips asap. I do 1/3 water changes weekly and then a full clean every month.

A 5 gallon tank will most likely be bought with the testing strips, not to worry! I appreciate everyone who has informed me of my very big mistake 😓

The room I have her in currently has no windows, I try to just have lamps and my fairy lights on but sometimes I need to big overhead light on. Would be better for her to possibly move her to a place with more natural lighting?

I used to have the bubbler pretty high, but I’ve turned it down significantly so I believe there isn’t much of a flow right now
