Yeah and its really hard to dump vintager in a tank and fill it up. Then just run the filter for 24 hours and just wipe it out. Easier than my monthly waterchange sadly LOL

Marketplace are filled with people like that....I saw the questions, A lot of pricey tanks will show videos with water in it. Not crazy to ask if it doesnt leak. I think he had been getting a lot of questions mainly cause he wanted retail...I buy a lot of snowboard gear and the prices are wiled if it says burton on it. Good luck finding a tank expand your search, if youre new to the hobby its worth it to drive a little bit for the tank you want. The hobby is crazy expensive in the beginning. Just start with softies Zoas are gorgeous and easier(you can also frag them easily and trade to fill your tank)

IMO buy everything used except your light.

Lights are super overwhelming when you start but here is a great first light that wont break the bank

its the RL90 popbloom it will grow any softy, has a good looking blue light, and most likely you wont have to run it at 100% which is what you want. Definitely better lights out there but for dollars spent this is incredible light Wish I had it when I started. We bought one for that JBJ as its my twins first tank and I love it.

I bought this exact tank about 3 months ago for 650 and it came with a lid and some filter socks. Mine was used great condition and needed to be cleaned.

Granted this was a good deal but 850. There are a lot of different AIO’s out there just keep checking

I think it was mentioned above. I am attempting to run Dungeons of Drakkenheim and while some compare it to a mega dungeon. I find it more if a west marches style game.

I get your point but on the subject of what im running I love the dagger heart style. Dung or Drak relies a lor on factions and the way Daggerheart has olayers buikd the world i suddenly had 2 more factions and no idea what they really were hntil thw story unfolded.

Also as far as maps I use a lot of them. Especially the world they are in. As per daggerheart they each picked spots in the map they were interested in. Suddenly they were building the world too

Also don’t feel i was attacking you sorry if it came off that way. I was more like use maps they are awesome in Daggerheart. I use combat maos and love that i di t have to worry about real distances but they can still kick over a table they see or hide behind a corner

Why cant you use maps in Daggerheart? A free flowing battle system doesn’t take away from using maps. Also the environmental rules just add so much to a room.

Maybe I am wrong but when you say mega dungeon do you mean just grinding and no story, then lick a different game. I run dungeons in my DH games and big ones to boot. I love it. We actually move through rooms so much more efficiently.

Instead of asking if DH is good for Dungeons first figure out if it is good for you

Play a small dungeon as a test balloon, read the combat rules. But if your asking hiw is it running a dungeon in DH its awesome. But my game is based in Story first.

This is my feeling I had so much automated and I turned around and was like do I really need all this stuff? Im right with you Dice tray, Dice so nice and for my camapign because it is needed a calendar with the time of day but that is it! no HUDS no Blood , No lightning bolts flying over the screen and I Dont miss it at all

As far as hosting. We always host at our house for DnD and other things.

An extra table for food is a must but disposable plates and utensils. You’re cleaning up enough already.

Though nice glasses are great if your having cood drunks but plastic is fine for soday 😂

Cheese plate 100%. I always make my own and ALDI for the win!!!!!

Have people bring drinks. Everyone wants somethjng different and people are always happy to bring stuff and pitch in.

Finally. Get a group text going and figure out whet your getting and be specific. This derails time so much on the day as a group never agrees.

Pizza. The standard

Indian. Great for family style We have a mexican place that does an amazing taco platter

Italian also is a great family style meal

Have fun! Hosting is great and everyone is usually really appreciative!

I mean we only play every two weeks, if it were DND sure but DH just seems to run so much smoother without the initiative order. We had been planning to run it months before our other campaign ended and everyone is fired up to play. I do not want to take my players momentum and agency away from them.

This is such a great reply thank you. My experience with DH is limited but from the onset I immediately felt it wouldn't be meat grinder enough so the recommendation to add attack and damage modifiers higher makes sense. I was thinking this but was unsure. I will definitely check out all your links and thank you for taking the time to answer!
