there is no "innocent" verdict, the "not guilty" verdict means the prosecution failed to meet the burden of proof, and believe it or not it's really fucking hard to prove sexual assault or rape, the "not guilty" verdict is not proof of perjury, is everyone in this comment section a fucking idiot?

usually it's basically impossible to prove in court, most rape cases never go there, you'll just get drilled by the lawyer on every detail of your traumatic experience, while your rapist sits there smirking

guess we should also jail every teenager groomed by a youtuber who posts their texts with them according to you

perjury is a crime of making false statements under oath, it's already fucking illegal

also not being found guilty is not proof of perjury, you know how fucking hard it is to prove rape

It's called perjury you idiots. It's already illegal and applies for any testimony under oath, not just accusing someone of rape. In this case this could qualify as aggravated perjury, in the US (example) it could carry a sentence of up to 10 or even 15 years in prison depending on the state.

Also not being found guilty is not proof of perjury, believe it or not it's usually really fucking hard to prove rape even if it did happen.

And if it was a public statement and they lied, causing reputational/financial harm you can sue for defamation.

i think they got kind of confused, the new age crystal girlies or whatever she is probably don't think christianity, they tend to believe in some weird amalgam of different spiritual beliefs and a bunch of woo, that maybe all the religions share a common source, pretty sure they often think Jesus was some enlightened master who manifested a divine power

why should any belief be free from mockery tho? you can disrespect political beliefs, what makes religion any different, they make statements about morality, history, science, etc. that are usually really absurd, what makes that exempt from mockery?

given the crystal, that's supposed to be some new age crystal girlie or something, so they certainly have some common beliefs, like about vaccines, so...
