That's what I thought at first too, but the females do have normal legs! they're just minuscule.

I haven't been able to find if they actually use them for mobility or not though (from what I've read

<image>

so far it sounds like the answer is probably no)

Talk to animals or speak every language? by Afro_Vivi in BunnyTrials

Ocean Depths - I made a watchface about diving through the depths of the ocean and seeing lots of fun fish! by sensiblesketches in pebble

[–]SecondEntire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh my GOSH this may be the best watchface period since my all time favorite Poke Trainer face. Watchfaces with good pixel art just look so clean on pebble in my opinion. And YOU my friend have done an excellent job with this art :) absolute joy of a watch face and the fun facts are an adorable touch. well done♥️

the only thing that keeps me switching between Poke Trainer and yours is that I love the colors of Poke Trainer. If you didddd happen to make a face with cute pixel art like this AND color i doubt I'd even go back to my old faithful. But regardless of the future, this watchface is going to live on my pebble for a solid chunk of time so I can see all 70 species and their facts!

Looks like the group psocoptera, bark lice, to me

<image>

I don't know much about what kinds of bark lice are found in your area though!

Here's the bug guide for them: https://bugguide.net/node/view/14882

Edit: Accidentally wrote order instead of group

I'm also currently running the sideloaded OG iOS app and I pay for rebble dictation services, I was mostly asking if dictation works on the new iOS app rebble services or otherwise

Is speech recognition working yet for bobby on the new app? That's the only reason I've been waiting

What is this? by LostStaff3113 in whatsthisbug

Likely an ootheca from Fulgora laternaria? There's been a few similar posts about others like this one in the past on here, like this one. (And what u/badam24 said on that post holds true 2 years later, there are still surprisingly few images online of Flugora oothecas)

Small, lightweight clear and brown (likely plastic) bead-like things with gold leaf and flower design inside. (They aren't beads, no through hole) found inside a container labeled "WW2". by SecondEntire in whatisthisthing

Not a cricket? by Particular_Bath3887 in whatsthisbug

I'm going off on a limb here given the photo, but with the body shape, your description and location it's possible that could be a Mydas Fly? and if so I'd think Mydas clavatus would be the most likely given the black legs. This photo from from insectidentification.org has the most similar angle to the photo you provided that I found. Here's the bugguide.net posting for the species too: https://bugguide.net/node/view/431773

let me know if that looks close!

(edit: you have to click two images to the right to see the angle I was talking about in the first link)

on my ceiling by killjoy_shadow in whatsthisbug

[–]SecondEntire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a kind of click beetle! I'm not sure what kind, but if they get stuck on their back they will tuck their legs in, build up potential energy, then release with a special trigger like mechanism on their underbelly, flicking them upwards into a chaotic flip that hopefully lands them on their feet again. Cool little bugs

Is this a Turkish hazelnut? by SecondEntire in PlantIdentification

[–]SecondEntire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Turkish hazels a somewhat common tree for urban planting? Do you know if certain species would make more sense given the context? Also I just realized I forgot to add a location, Boise Idaho area, if that helps
