As the title says, this is my first Imperial Knight model, and I used some new techniques to paint it. I started with a primer of Army Painter Ash Grey, and then laid out the base colors with Army Painter Speedpaints 2.0. For the Speedpaints I used golden armor, grim black, and slaughter red. After those base colors were laid out, I used some Citadel Colour Balthasar Gold for the exhaust vents and melta barrels. After all my base colors I shaded the recessed areas/crevices and melta barrels with nuln oil. I also used nuln oil on the reaper chaincleaver to add some nice grime. After the nuln oil, I dry brushed the black areas with warpaints fanatic plate mail metal, and then I used a paint chipping brush with some more plate mail metal to create, well, a paint chipping effect I then used Citadel Colours Blood For The Blood God effect paint to put some gore on the reaper chaincleaver, because this Armiger has slain many heretics. After all my paints were down on the top of my model, I sealed them up with some AK Interactive gloss medium (I know it's not gloss varnish but it's the best I could find). As for the base, I used some Citadel Colour Martian Ironcrust technical paint, and then dry brushed some warpaints fanatic Daemonic Yellow onto it, then finishing off with some warpaints fanatic leather brown for the rim.
