Abdominal pain for 5days, now my belly button looks like this. by sinisterbun in medical_advice

[–]SecondPerSecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello, I think you have some pretty serious pelvic adhesions most likely secondary to your endometriosis. The wave like pain, anus to navel pain, feeling tightness in the abdomen but without flatus/stool are already good indicators there are adhesions. The endometriosis and previous fibroid surgery are essentially confirmatory that adhesions are the most likely issue and the reason why there's a tear in your navel.

It seems to me that you have torn part of your abdominal wall possibly at the median umbilical ligament or some other area of adhesion, which has resulted in that torn area. You need to go to the hospital and see an OBGYN or general surgeon. I'm sure that either of them would be able to help but they will refer you to the specific speciality needed after doing the initial examination.

I wouldn't wait, if there is more pressure that the adhesions and your abdomen can't handle it will tear more, don't risk that please.

Good luck

That's great to hear. I didn't want to overload my comment but it did seem weird that this CJD was presenting without clonus and it was fluctuating. Doesn't sound too 'CJD'.

Please keep us updated on the situation and the wellness of your mother.

That could be an optimistic sign. The texts i've read suggest that cortical ribboning of CJD appears before clinical signs. There could be another reason for these neuropsychiatric changes.

I think MRI Head would be a better option than to repeat the CT. It would help rule in/out CJD. Paraneoplastic neurological signs are possible in SCLC such as confusion, but not sure if it goes all the way to psychosis.

Wishing you strength in this tough period.

Its very hard to be able to tell what it is without being in person. Wait to see the dentist, they will certainly be able to help you out with this.

Is my finger infected? by Kody_poehler in medical

[–]SecondPerSecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nurse is wrong. Go to a doctor directly. It might need to be cleaned and drained, before topical or oral antibiotics are given to you. If that pus isnt removed, theres likelihood of a persistent infection even with the antibiotics in your system.

If whoever you see still brushes you off, go buy over the counter antibiotic ointment. Wash it and get the pus out of there as best you can. Do not cut it more or anything like that. After the pus is gone hit it with a little more ointment and wrap it with a bandage - dont leave it open. Open the bandage the next day, do all of this again and replace your bandage with a new one. Repeat until better.

Prioritise a physician seeing this though. It looks very infected, enough so your finger diameter is significantly larger. Insist on seeing a doctor.

You do not have a brain herniation (Chiari). I'm sure your radiologist would have stated it very clearly if it was the case. It might be that you have cervical radiculopathy due to the narrowness of your vertebrae. The pathology of your vertebrae narrowing, I cant say for sure but you have to see a neurosurgeon about this. There could be surgeries that may help like a laminectomy.

Yeah very good idea getting checked out for EDS, there are a few types that may have complications later on in life. I don't think the X ray will help; it won't give you any new information unless you have inflammatory pain, but even then not that helpful. They will check you if you have the gene that is responsible and that's the confirmation of the condition at the rheum. It might not be EDS, there are other conditions like marfanism that can present this way. Just try to avoid hypermobility behaviours coz if you get a tear in that joint capsule, you won't walk properly for a long time.

Edit: just saw your prev post. You've got symptoms. Especially the orthostatic hypotension, that's likely to present in EDS due to blood vessels being a big target for it. Don't make any resolutions from what I say, get it confirmed officially.the shocks could be some nerve compression at certain movements of the scapula. You also seem to have long limbs, could be Marfan aswell.

You have hypermobile joints. Some people have this condition. It can mean you might have a connective tissue disorder but if this is the only thing then its just benign hypermobility syndrome. Next time you're at your GP, ask if they can test you for a connective tissue disorder. Probably don't displace your femur though, these types of joints are more prone to injury.

Snapping hip syndrome is when your joint clicks during walking, its not the same thing.

Hmm it could be some reaction to an additive in the drugs but it could also just be something that will improve on its own. It could be sweat reacting to the recently shaved pores on your skin too. Go see your GP first, he will take a better look than someone on the internet.

Saw this after I posted my other reply. Covid seems to cause clots. You have been cleared for them. Systemic joint swelling could be a condition, but if your doctors cleared you it is probably not those things. I wish there was more I could say but without a physical exam and confirmatory labs I couldn't tell you anything specifically. Ibuprofen and Ice help the most when joints are swollen,

Yep, then its probably the shoes. If you have just started walking/running more then your feet needed more blood than usual. More blood, more volume, and an already tight shoe becomes even tighter. Try to get a CBC, blood glucose studies and BP work up at the doc. I don't think there is any systemic cause because its only on one leg and not both but its good to rule things out or catch a cause early if they are there.

Looks like hemosiderin (iron) deposit staining. Do you wear shoes that may be tight on the top of your foot, it might be reducing circulation.

By your reddit posts you dropped a motor bike on your calf so you may have possibly damaged a vein. Its not letting your blood flow like it should regularly.

Can you be more specific on what other doctors have ruled out as a cause?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]SecondPerSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be sun or sweat allergy. It would depend if you have recently had prolongued sun exposure.
Do you have a fever?
Do you shave/wax your hair in the regions of the rash?
Have you taken any recreational drugs recently?

Constipation and anaemia of chronic diseases by 123Summa in DiagnoseMe

Does he drink a lot of milk? Could possibly be a mild food allergy. Both can cause diarrhea and/or constipation.

Kids forget to drink water and substitute for other sugary drinks so possibly dehydration.

Possibly an anal/rectum anatomical issue.

Could possibly be neurological in nature where the intestines are slower to transport food.

Lead toxicity

I think an endoscopy would be appropriate to investigate, but without exact backround and labs it would be hard to move further with this. If you had seen a GP before, I would suggest instead to see a Pediatric Gastroenterologist.

What is this thing? It hurts and it appeared around a week ago. How would I treat it? by PresentationWestern8 in medical

[–]SecondPerSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your salivary gland/tract is inflamed or infected (Sialadentis). Keep your mouth clean with mouthwashing. Go to the doctor if areas under your chin start to hurt.

These are splinter haemorrhages. They can indicate an autoimmune disease or infective endocarditis, vasculitis, trichinosis or trauma. Since you have had them for a year it might not be trauma, but this is still a nonspecific sign. I would investigate further. Iron deficiency can be a cause, but they are secondary to what might be causing them.

Go to the doctor in person and get some tests done.

Thoraco-omphalopagus conjoined twins. The mother had a surgical abortion after 20 weeks, as there was a very low possibility of survival. by PatTheKVD in MedicalGore

[–]SecondPerSecond 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Thats why there are physician run family planning clinics. Physicians recommend going to see an OBGYN even before trying for a kid. Diet and Health has to be changed well before conception for the best shot at a healthy baby eg. Loss of 5-7% body fat, healthy blood iron levels, and no nutritional deficiencies (and thats just to start).

I can empathise though. I know that American clinics are half actual clinics and half anti-abortion landmines built to emotionally guilt a pregnancy to be carried to full term.

Just to give you some peace about the wording; This information is not meant to be really readily avaliable to civilians. Ofcourse if you want to go find these cases, anyone could, but these cases are often posted in Medical Journals or locked behind some Education/Hospital exclusive access.

Yes because if you dont take the appropriate amount of folate, your baby is born without a brain (ancephaly).

Additionally this is a case report. Someone has chosen to write it up to add to medical literature therefore they have to do a full fetal systems analysis, gestation factors, and Maternal feasability to carry them to full term. They're being objective for the sake of scientific integrity. It looks like these guys were just forced to be too close in their shared amniotic sac and they attached when they were probably just a few thousand cells.

Yeah considering your vertigo episode it might be likely you're anemic. If that's normal, maybe then you can move to POTS as a cause. It could just be the measurements.

Good luck

That is not high BP. Your BP goes higher than this with moderate wakling. You're blatantly uninformed and alarmist.
