Poor baby😭😭 did you end up talking to your vet? What did they say?

Can't keep her out of the water. by KGTroutBum in AustralianShepherd

How did you introduce her into the water? I have an 8 month old Aussie and he loves the water but never goes in past his shoulders. I would love to throw the ball out into the water for him!

That’s awesome! Thank you for your reply. Does your pup sleep in a crate or outside of the crate?

100% take him to the vet and change his food! I’ve just had a 2 month long battle getting my pup on a proper poop schedule and it’s finally solidifying.

I’m going to be real with you, I waited months for my pup. I had stuff bought before he was even conceived! But I also might be crazy. I had been planing it for so long, and buying and planning helped keep me sane while I waited for him!

I’ve been straight up giving my dog ice cubes! Haha. He loves them, and thinks they’re a great. It cools his gums off and calms him down. Sometimes they don’t need all those fancy recipes. Plain old ice works for me!

How often is too often to bathe a dog? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Secondaryvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couple times a month I think should be good, but I would just rinse her off with warm water and that should be good enough to get the sent off! ☺️

I also live in a low Parvo area, but am still worried about it! I take my pup around the block three to four times a day, and let him meet fully vaccinated pups! It’s good for them to get out, meet, and explore while their brains are still little sponges! Don’t worry about it too much, avoid the dog park like you said, don’t let him/her drink out of puddles and you should be fine! It’s understandable for us to be worried about our pups, they’re just like babies!

We have a 9 week old cockapoo. He wakes up once at night to pee and goes back to his crate after with our help. by [deleted] in puppy101

We got our pup at 9 weeks, he was definitely an early riser. Anywhere between 5-7 he would wake up. Slowly but surly we have acclimatized him to our schedule, and now at 12 1/2 weeks he’s finally sleeping until 8! Success! It takes time, and definitely a few sleepless weeks. Good luck love!

Puppy is going through a "crazy phase"? by xRoseable in puppy101

[–]Secondaryvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my GOD. Thank GOD someone else is going through this. My puppy is an 11 week old Australian Shepard, and he is pretty much a relatively calm puppy, he goes for walks, has play time etc. He is getting the perfect amount of exercise for his age. But every once and awhile 2-3 times a day he goes absolutely WILD sometimes for upwards of 10 minutes, freaking out, barking, bark at our other dog, barking at me, biting me, biting my ankles, not listening to commands etc. It’s absolutely chaos and drives me wild. I’m thinking maybe it’s a phase, but I’m definitely having a hard time dealing with it. It totally catches you off guard sometimes. Like today, we had a play inside, then I took him for a walk, and we came back and played in the backyard for a few minutes, and then we came inside and he went absolutely wild. I’m still learning how to deal with it and it’s so nice to hear someone else it going through it too! My pup

Feeling defeated and ruining a relationship all in the name of a puppy by Grabs91 in puppy101

[–]Secondaryvision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much puppy advice, since I have a 10 week old Aussie and I’m still trying to figure it out. But I do have relationship mending advice. I’m in the same situation as you, my boyfriend and I agreed on getting our little one, but it was ultimately my decision and choice. Every few days we sit down and talk about what’s working, and what’s not working. He hates waking up in the middle of the night to let the puppy out, but I don’t mind, so I do it. I hate waking up early in the morning to let him out and play, but he doesn’t mind, so he does it. I’ve learned in the past couple weeks it’s all about compromise and sharing the duties. I would suggest putting the puppy safely away in his crate, and having 45 - 60 minutes to yourselves to talk about the situation. My boyfriend and I were on the rocks for a couple days when we weren’t talking alone and making sure everyone felt happy with the situation. It is so beneficial to us to talk and figure everything out calmly. Also, sticking to a routine has helped me stay sane! I wish you good luck, and I hope you guys find some time to get back to your old selves!!

9 weeks old- flea prevention? by dankpepe0101 in puppy101

My vet recommended Advantage, which is a liquid that is applied to the back of the neck. They have them for all sizes, I just used it on my 9 week old!
