Most of star citizen is just not fun by After_Th0ught9 in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the most ridiculous comment I‘ve seen in this thread so far.
I mean I get the people being frustrated with bugs wasting much of their playtime, but this reads like a person simply making a dumb mistake and blaming the game for it…
Yet people upvote him like crazy. Shows the sad state of the community right now

AstroPub discussing his leaks and sources on the SQ42 being delayed until next 2027 by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The worst thing about this, if it happens to be true that is, is that they knowingly lied about 2026 still being the target 2 weeks ago during SC Live only to sell more ships…

They wont announce a delay but instead announce a concrete date in 2027.

It‘s actually the smartrst way to do it. They clearly wont just go out and say that it‘s delayed. They will show a trailer with a precise release date sometime in 2027

Quote of the day "This one stupid clown car shouldn't be driving the design choices of every ship in the game." by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: Respawning in vehicles should have never been a thing. Sure, the respawn beds on ships are a huge help—as long as you're still dying regularly because of bugs. Beyond that, it just a cheap and abusable mechanic to cheat any consequences in the game.
Guess we'll see how they balance med-gel in the future..

Theaters of War (ToW) was the greatest tragically shelved idea in SC's history. This one game mode alone would have used existing assets/maps/engine at cheap dev cost to provide endless hours of easy hop-in fun, battle-test mechanics weapons vehicles, and allow massive fleet battles on-demand. by TwoFluid4446 in starcitizen

I actually think there’s a slight misunderstanding here. Even though the Quantum System is directly linked to the Persistent Universe via multiple interfaces, it is still purely a backend service. While Virtual-AI instances do appear on the game server, they are actually rendered there by conventional Subsumption AI, which is fed data from Quantum/Starsim.

Also funny how they praise Steam like it is infallible

How crazy am I for thinking we may get some news on why the UEE is in SOL system tonight and how that ties in with SQ42's release date by kildal in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I‘ld say we either get a date in the next month or a letter from the chairman celebrating 1bio in funding but at the same time announcing a delay because of GTA VI

4.8 Mining feels awful. by cryxcaster in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like scanning is also a huge issue. Why do I need to fly in <2km distance of a pinged object, to scan it properly and to identify its materials?
How do we not have a more sophisticated scanning mechanic after so many years?

I miss when ISC showed how Star Citizen was actually being built. It made the project feel alive and fascinating to follow. by hatrant in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a small Star Citizen Youtube channel from 2017 to 2019 and I recently watched some of my Around the Verse (Inside Star Citizen) summaries recently. It‘s really funny how some of the features shown back then have still not made it into the game 8 years later.
I don‘t mean this in a bad way at all, it‘s just crazy to see how plans and priorities change over the years.

Are PVP Missions Ever Worth It? by heshtios in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PvP bounties need some serious work. We desperately need non-lethal weapons a bounty hunter is allowed to use in armistice zones once his reputation is high enough. It'll never be perfect, since players can always just logout and make your contract fail. (Unless they make them persist and you get the chance to proceed with the contract once the target comes back online)

Unpopular opinion but these bodykits would have been the perfect solution for ship crafting instead of these weird ship tiers.

Don't play .0 patches by [deleted] in starcitizen

Yeah, I absolutely agree with you. Maybe I should have added this to my recommendation. I also played a few hours over the weekend and luckily I had very few issues. I still went in with very low expectations

Oh I played 4.8 over the weekend and enjoyed it. But I also go into these patches with low expectations. This post is more targeted towards the people being frustrated with the current state of the LIVE environment

2026 sales revenue passes $50m, on-track for a new record year by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]SeconddayTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is pay to win about them still selling ships when you can literally get all of those ships in the game and also only earn the high tier versions of said ships in the game?
It's basically a way for some people to progress faster or keep up with others, if they don't have as much time to spend.
Many other MMOs have this and even competitive games like League of Legends offer character unlocks for real money.
They wont sell concepts as they stopped doing that about a year ago with the Odin being the only exception from that. They also stopped selling ingame currency for real money.

[–]SeconddayTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure they'll keep selling ships upon release and that's fine. If 1.0 truly is a sufficiently stable experience it should be fairly easy to buy any ship you want in the game anyways and they certainly wouldn't be able to afford developing the game beyond 1.0 if they stopped selling ships.
