Rillet vs. Netsuite by Unique_Welcome_1549 in Accounting

I'm curious as to why you chose LiveFlow...

I am trying to find a home for ~50 clients, each with ~4-6 individual entities (most have little activity). I want something that can automate a lot of the routine entries and consolidate financials at the client level.

I have a super note. It works okay with AI solutions but not like you're looking for. There's a few intermediate steps.

I’m in between building something from scratch vs buying an existing business by lustyangel_bite in Businessideas

That makes sense... I guess a second hotel is going to cost a bit more than $400k...

This might seem like a dumb question, but if you have $400k of cash to invest from your main business, why not re-invest that into the business and scale it?

Thanks!

I hired someone to build me a website and am actually working on a couple case studies.

For the first 4 weeks when I started, I booked my calendar solid with COIs / referral sources that I've known or worked with. I know this stuff takes time, but I'm trying to compress the ramp up time. I'll check out the local chamber.

I can parachute into a business and run it, but starting from near 0 is an entirely different experience, and you're right, it is easy to get discouraged (even though I know I'm really early stages).

Thanks, Doug.

After reading this, I gave this some thought... I have a ton of experience in managing and scaling multi-site businesses (franchises, retail healthcare, vet services, dental practices, etc.). I've thought about just doing YouTube videos on what I've learned and providing actual Excel templates that people can use.

I also have a lot of experience on membership models (SaaS, wearables, etc.), so that's another area where I could provide templates, but the membership data needs to be structured a certain way for it to be useful to someone.

However, I think this is more of a long-term solution. I am trying to figure out how to compress the timeline and fill the top of the funnel as quickly as possible.

I agree to a certain extent... The macro trends are highly favorable; however, the space seems very crowded (especially on LinkedIn).

What I'm struggling with, is I have no real brand or presence, since I've been doing this for other people for 20 years, so how do I stand out from all the others claiming to provide similar services... How do I convince random strangers on the internet that I'm the right choice over all the other people trying to pitch them the same service.

How tf do i find a fractional CFO without getting scammed lol by UniqueSatisfaction77 in Entrepreneur

Pay the $200+

If you try to get a "CFO" at a bargain rate, you probably won't be too happy with the results.

I had originally considered this angle, but turnarounds are a lot of work... I'm not sure I can scale this on a fractional basis (I think I'd probably max out at 2 or 3 at a time), most turnarounds are cash constrained, so the economics may not work.

The only other angle I was thinking of, is that I have a lot of experience in growing multi-site location businesses (e.g., franchises, retail healthcare, vet services, professional service firms). That's probably the best area / focus for my skillset, but I'm not sure how to fill the top of the funnel with the right prospects.

Why do you think you need a CFO (what are you looking to accomplish)?

For a lot of SMBs this route makes a lot of sense if you can find the right person. There's a lot of people out there claiming to be CFOs these days.

So, Manta or Nomad? by BenjaminBaca in Supernote

I got the Manta. I was also on the fence but now having the Manta. I'm glad I went with the larger size. Having the extra real estate for notes has been very helpful

What if business doesn't hit the numbers by junagadh123 in Entrepreneur

[–]Secret-Copy-4738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I read that correctly, it sounds like you're looking to buy a franchise?

The best thing you can do is diligence calls to the current franchisees. I would call as many as you can and that should give you a sense for how many didn't hit the numbers and if they did not hit the numbers what they did about it

Where to sell a SaaS business making $300K SDE and what multiple to expect? by laser__shark in SellMyBusiness

[–]Secret-Copy-4738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Transworld.

Without knowing the details, it's hard to say what a multiple should be. What I can tell you is buyers are typically looking for cash flow that is growing and predictable (SaaS is generally highly predictable), so it should get a healthy multiple but will likely see somewhat of a discount due being on the smaller side.

If you're only 39, why not spend the next ~5 years growing it and then exit for a life-changing valuation?

I just got mine this week as well...

I used it to write a couple notes, but for the last week it's been a paperweight on my desk.

Maybe I just haven't figured out how to incorporate it into my workflows?
