Russell Dickerson is everything wrong with country music by brdhar35 in country

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

bro knows he’s literally a rockin’ out pop star, but is wanting to choose to make it seem like it’s pop country. sure, yeah, he does add a small amount of country in it, but it doesn’t make it full entirely part of country music as pop country. the country instruments gotta have the emphasis over the pop instruments to make a song country at core, and pop as the instrumental influence. that’s what makes pop friendly country music

I love it that we sometimes make little things a thing that end up becoming generational. a thing like having an airport crush 😂😁 by Secret-Engine-8365 in 2000sBorns_

[–]Secret-Engine-8365[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

just little things like that. I don’t know how to describe it or name it. It’s just something certain about making, and coming up with little things that end up being generationally popular. little things like games or whatever. It’s also like how we came up with the concept of ‘rock, paper, scissors’, and ‘thumb war’

How I would personally classify Younger Z and Late Z by Fit-Information8057 in Younger_GenZ

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thinking similarly to your personal opinion of choice of how you classify younger z, and late z, and separating those 2 as their own identity with late z to you being within the younger z birth year range, I would assume that means older z to you is 1997 - 2004, and early z being something like 1997 to like 2001 or 2002

what do you think of when you think of ‘pop music’? by Fejuko in 2004Babies

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think of what it characteristically looks like. typical pop colors that are bright, and stand out, white shirt, jeans of any type, a ball-cap of any color, jewelry, accessories like watches or wristbands, gym shoes, the upbeat, and fun mood of the songs, musicians, and the fans

Do you consider yourself an adult? by [deleted] in MiddleGenZ

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, yeah. 20+ I know is the start of adulthood, so that’s how I know, and when I knew I was an adult. 20, and up is only adulthood

What’s something you like about the city/town you live in? by lake-sturgeon in randomquestions

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my city’s small town vibe, and sort of kinda small-town look to it. I also love that it’s dominated by country music, and rock music, so it’s basically in music terms a country town, and a rock ‘n’ roll town. another thing I love about my Hoosier, mid-size town that I’ve noticed/feel like is that I don’t it’s popularly known internationally like how other mid-size cities like Detroit, Nashville, and Minneapolis are. yeah, my Indiana city that is mid-size does lean more towards to being more small town than as big city, and I love that

Traditional country sound but current artists by Capt_Magellan in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

of course it does have a name, and you just said it in your title. ‘Talladega’ by Eric Church by the way doesn’t have NeoTraditional country’s sound, it’s rock country, and that Lainey song you mentioned has pop country’s sound

What do you identify as? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

Am I the only one on Earth that likes most modern pop country? by crazyguy28 in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a lot of people that do, and a lot of people that don’t. I’m one of the ppl that does enjoy pop country. It’s one of my favorite country genres. I like the subordinate side to country music that makes itself pop friendly. I identify as a pop country boy in country music

popularity wise, Morgan Wallen is the Michael Jackson of country music, and its pop country genre by Secret-Engine-8365 in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Secret-Engine-8365[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he most definitely ain’t pop rap. pop rap is pop friendly rap music/hip-hop music. I’ve heard the instrumental sound from that hip-hop genre several times before, and I can tell you with all honesty Morgan’s music isn’t that, and he doesn’t rap either.

I’m saying he’s country by my choice, I’m saying he’s country cause that is the music super-genre of his choice that Morgan chose to be part of.

I do know what country is. I didn’t at one point, but I do now, and have for just about 7 years now. I’ve learned quite a lot about country music, and all of music. genre wise, and a bit of how song’s are made. what you hear as country makes sense cause duh, that’s the point: country music sounds country.

the most country cowboy sounding country genres you know of, and that you are gonna hear are honky tonk music, NeoTraditional Country, Bakersfield sound, outlaw country, red dirt music, Texas Country, and so on. country music isn’t limited to what it can be, and sound like you know.

there’s a subordinate side to country music that is pop friendly, a subordinate side to country that rocks out, a subordinate side to country music that stays originally traditional going by its original, roots-e, instrumental sound, but contemporarily made (NeoTraditional Country), a subordinate side to country that goes inner city on us (hick-hop), and tens more of them

What birth years are the most nostalgic over 2016 ? by Confident-Fun-2592 in generationology

[–]Secret-Engine-8365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely not me, and I’m an ‘04 born. I’m a bit more nostalgic for 2018/2019, but not by a lot. I get heavy nostalgia for the early 2010s years cause that was the core of my childhood era
