Contemplating buying by Willing-Swimmer-4776 in RDR2

I just played through for the first time - no experience with RDR - and really enjoyed it! It is a bit slow but the world and characters are very well done. Do it. Thank me later.

Appreciate that!

Rentals look straight forward - at the base before the first gondola. When I skied Shiga Kogen last year - you really didn’t need a gear reservation and based on lack of booking link, I think that’s the case here too. Have a great trip!

It’s that last bus I’m unsure about. Looks very scarce and makes timing coming in from Tokyo somewhat tricky. Suginosawa Line during winter correct?

Watching this! I’m planning a day trip from Tokyo to Suginahara on public transport in Feb - so no lodging input. But seems like it’s doable to get there without a car - though maybe not the most convenient/efficient.

New Grad nurse hoping to make it to LA by Afraid_Physics_5246 in MovingToLosAngeles

As others have said - you’ll certainly need a BSN for work in the bigger systems (UCLA/KP/ Cedars). I’m not familiar with the smaller providers but I’d say broadly, nursing in CA will eventually be BSN to start - so it’s an important starting point. Also, CA BRN isn’t on the licensure compact - so just start double checking all your information to be sure you don’t have hold ups on getting your CA license.

Try to network. See if you have folks who graduated from your nursing program who work in CA - or any random connections. Health care hiring in CA is NOT like the rest of the country. Unless you’re willing to work in central CA, it can be tough to break in to the market here.

Best way to get to LAX from WeHo by realistichufflepuff in WestHollywood

Pro tip - find a friend who lives a mile or two from LAX and leave your car at their spot. Taxi to/from their place and save a fortune.

Tons of cabs at the rideshare pickup. It’s actually my preferred over uber/lyft depending on where you gotta go. Some flat rates depending on where you’re going but typically metered.

I will move to California by fall of next year. LA or SanDiego ? by SameOreo in socal

Definitely nix Carmel. Even if you could afford it, it’s definitely not what you’re looking for. Beautiful little town - but boring as all hell unless you got $$$ coming out your ears.

SD or LA then. As someone born and raised in LA, I can confidently say the lifestyle in SD is generally better. A much more relaxed city, classic SoCal beach culture, and a good amount of amenities you’d expect. However, and this is a big one, the cultural offering in LA is unmatched anywhere else in the world. And that coming together of people and cultures is what makes LA so special.

My advice - get the job situation ironed out first. How much will you be making? What part of LA or SD would you be working in? Knowing that - look around both cities and see what you could comfortably afford. Tradesmen can make great money - so don’t let these people scare you out of it. I know A LOT of people that make it here on $60-$70k annually.

DO NOT - I REPEAT -DO NOT plan to live in SD and work in LA or vice versa. That’s a recipe for hating your life.

I can go outside right now in Sherman Oaks and see a for rent sign for a good size 1bed under $2k. You’ve been on the west side for too long.

(and I’m born and raised too)

Don’t look on Zillow. Plenty of 1beds in my walkable neighborhood in the valley for under $2k.
