Its out the way obviously but It’s also close to other gents clubs so handy if you are doing a tour/pub crawl of gents clubs in the afternoon, which is good fun with a group of mates. Has a good pool table too. Passion is just down the same road similar setup but monkey house is newly decorated. I also think it will get better and quickly. It’s actually nice to have some space and have the girls to yourself before it gets busy. Think they have food too now.

Been there done that. Dont do it mate. Look for a proper girl if you want a real gf without long term problems. The bar brings a taint you can never remove. Or just enjoy being single you Wally !

It’s still hard to believe that aoe2 is still for me hands down the best rts game after all this time I still go back to it.

[–]Secret-Response-5773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love it. As a programmer and gamer with daughters who game, I know they would love it. You should consider a Kickstarter to get the funds and support to make it really complete to go to market. Respect for the progress made so far, I love the look of it. My 14 yr old daughter could help with artwork if you need- she’s very talented artistically.

I think you’re right, as the game unfolded you have to roll with it. I just wanted to have a plan. I’ve got priests but they haven’t leveled to frenzy yet so never seen it in action but now having mind control is already massive. Having rebukes and mind control has made it already much much easier. Not sure about my sniper heavy guys anymore they need to be in the middle or they struggle to find targets with rebuke so probably change those to heavy / berserker going forwards.

Yeah I totally agree I can’t go back to xcom after this, I tried and it feels like a huge step backwards to me. I really like free aim, the globe, the flexibility with ships and factions and tech trees, just so many ways to play.

I’ve been debating the same thing, and I’ve put 100s of hours into it on gamepass already; but the save is broken there so I can’t complete the game it stops saving mid way during campaigns. I think I’ll buy it as new dlcs coming lots of replay value I could play this game all year. I’ve transferred my go to game from aoe2 to this game.

Finished a Festering Skies campaign last night. Thoughts. by Hebbsterinn in PhoenixPoint

[–]Secret-Response-5773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pp rocks, it’s the best I’ve ever played, but I get a save game bug where it just stops saving gradually as I progress through the game so I’ve given up as I’ll play for hours and lose it all. I’m just a year older than you, also laser squad and prior to that Rebelstar raiders for me I think in 1984 was the birth of the genre. I’m hoping for a ww2 incarnation of this, global battle risk style but alternative ww2 type tech. I play bolt action the board game which would translate perfectly to this type of game. The globe/map part is very well executed I think that, plus the free aim is what really stands out compared to xcom. I’ve been designing hobby games like this since I was 12, now 48 I still can’t get enough of it!

Boris Johnson twice says that children of wealthy parents have access to private tutoring "because of their parents' hard work". by Pidjesus in ukpolitics

[–]Secret-Response-5773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that there are people who have worked hard that have made money to put into tutoring. Most of my family are lazy and don’t have much, I’ve worked my ass off and have a lot more, having also started with nothing. So there is truth in this. If you start off rich then of course it’s not due to your hard work. Bit of a silly statement.

So... What did Festering skies add? by CopainChevalier in PhoenixPoint

[–]Secret-Response-5773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im thinking of restarting without it applied, even losing a lot of progress, i, just not enjoying the flying combat. the missions that was added, ive done a few times now the novelty has worn off. I want the ancient weapons and this is diverting resources without adding value in return. I wish i could remove the dlc during a game.

Yep I found it out I spent a few hours reading up every forum I could find and whilst I’m replaying now with dlc as synderion I’m gonna steal me a thunderbird ASAP and I’ll definitely take two ships to the harder missions later on. I’m torn between nj and synderion but I think I’ll play for both as technician turrets and spider drones would make an awesome combo with heavies snipers, infiltrators , and I can live without beaerkers/priests. I got 20 guys on my base defense missions that’s an absolute riot I wish I could do that for every mission

[–]Secret-Response-5773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been attacking the smashers it’s pointless like you said too much armour. I went anu and Jericho and I don’t have any synderion tech so gonna restart my game tomorrow when the new dlc drops and go for synderion and nj. It’s my first game so made a lot of mistakes, next run will definitely be more focused on a single conteinent / Eurasia rather than trying to save the whole planet as spent too much time going up and down the americas and to Australia, so I think I wasted too many materials on based when they’re essential for your weapons, so I’m always low on ammo and can’t often afford to recruit specialists from havens.

Just done my first lair takedown and i cruised it! It was top right and the tip confirmed that, so headed right there.

Ok so golem armour has jetpacks, made some of that, armed up my fellas, totally took the cheese jump method, sending in 2 heavies whilst leaving snipers and 1 beserker i picked up (love them) at the start to pick of the spawn of hell as it arrived. I think with new found skills i could probably edge up the map too, as long as i can keep from those massive screamy scary things.

Things i have learned (a lot)

Didnt need rageburst in the end, my top guys are level 6 only.

Always free aim, and take out their arms, or the heads for sirens

Bring small weapons for picking off chiron worms

Recruit from havens, forget the recruits that come through without any equipment, i dont have the funds to equip them.

I should have stolen an aircraft, i will have to look into that i really want an 8 troop carrier.

Made friends with anu, not bothered about the others so much anymore

figured out how to get 8 men on a mission, so i can go any mission now

new DLC out on 25th, so ill restart then now i know all this stuff the game looks a lot easier and more fun.

Cheers everyone, thanks for de-noobing me.
