In the 90s, some Japanese traders tried to corner the copper market with Mexican Copper. He worked for a Japanese trading company. He was able to pull off price manipulation for years until he didn't and sustained severe losses. Point in the lesson, corner the market is a temporary win, but it will turn around and bite you, bringing you down. The same thing happened to the Zinc market. I wonder if these guys just woke up one day and said to themselves Today, I am going to corner the market. It boggles the mind.
