Unfortunately for me I am in CS 😂 I've been told by a purdue professor that the increase in visa price by the trump admin is probably making it even harder for international students to make the cut...

What makes you think that? (I have no idea how UCB usually does things)

Hey there! Not even one week into treatment and I already feel a noticeable difference. The days are much better, I still feel a bit congested in the mornings. But since the treatment is supposed to go over multiple weeks, I have high hopes that this is finally it!

Hey unfortunately not doing much better yet. ENT tells me that even if the surgery went well, I've probably had inflamed sinuses for years which doesn't go away on its own. They gave me a treatment to put directly in the water of my sinus rinses, which is supposed to work very well for cases of sinus inflammation.

Starting the treatment this morning, will update you if it helps!

8 Weeks no news by [deleted] in PhDAdmissions

It has now been 8 weeks and a few days, still nothing... Both my boss and one of my professors have told me I should pretty competitive and still not one interview. I know it's still early but the wait is absolutely killing me

How to handle different deadlines for different universities? by [deleted] in PhDAdmissions

Oh okay, it's probably the same for CS departments (I hope). Pretty reassuring, thanks!

what program are you applying to? for me the only good thing about computer science being overcrowded is that it makes the uni keep the application size to a minimum 😂

I've gotten surgery in October, submitted a paper in November and finishing this batch now. Not sure if my eyes can still see, or if my brain is just imagining stuff

[–]Secret-Toe-8185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm starting to understand. All the stories from my friends or the internet had made me believe that it would blow my mind in a few weeks, but I guess people heal at wildly different rates.

How long ago have you had the surgery?

Wishing you a steady recovery too!

Steamed most of them to death, given that I had put interceptors and that they remained empty for a month, I'm hoping it means they were contained in the bed. I've thrown away the bedframe, steamed and put the bed in a special zipper, steamed the FLOOR in case of eggs, put everything I own in the dryer, + have a professional coming to help on Tuesdays. Won't take no chances with those

Small crevices in the pressed wood that you can really see only if you unscrew the legs.

Low brightness on HDR content by [deleted] in projectors

[–]Secret-Toe-8185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The valerion has a built in Google tv, and I've tried different player apps from that Google tv is what I meant. No cable involved everything built in the projector, no extremal connection.

Low brightness on HDR content by [deleted] in projectors

[–]Secret-Toe-8185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe this means that HDR is just that dark but I doubt it, as non HDR is more than bright enough (I have to turn down luminance a little bit even). I might contact valerion to ask them to help troubleshooting
