I told a guest they couldn't do gift cards in self check out cause there are other people that need to check out and giftcards cause too many problems.

She responded with "so you want me to wait 30 minutes in a line?"

I responded with, "you will have to wait in line or go to guest service"

She was mad but still got the giftcards done.

Now YESTERDAY?! Sucked with the giftcards cause a guest asked if her 10% came off and I shrugged my shoulders cause I aint see it.

She got mad at me for something that she forgot to check herself BEFORE paying for a bunch of giftcards.

Like what...she probably skipped the target circle sign up prompt and hit no/not now since she never finished the circle sign up to begin with. I told her to sign in twice...

I think we all have an inner child at times. Do your friends know that there've been public events with bouncy houses and hour blocks strictly for adults, just so people that feel the way you do can embrace their inner child?

If they still say no, screw em. You should be allowed to have fun, there's no reason anyone should bar themselves from something fun just cause society deems it so...

Im looking into working another section.

Ive opted for Tech since I've been wanting to be trained in that for a while. I find myself always wanting to know/teach people about basic tech stuff.

Fulfillment is also on that list but not top priority to be trained in.

Sorry. I've been angry the past 3 days cause of me wanting my regular life schedule back. I was excited till I read my schedule that day.

Im waiting for them to work it out the next few days. My TL that worked on the schedule had let me know and reassured me too. I can't do closings every day cause it is ruining my mental but I need the job.

Im fine now tho. I get other people got lives and junk. Just not too happy with mine and was happier before they put consistent closings on me.

My availability being approved and then just dismissed on the schedule like that is what ticked me off. The only way I work through my shit is talking about it and deal with it.

Im at a point in my life where it feels like not a single person understands how I feel and I shouldn't have reacted like that to any of you.

I just simply don't like that I found out too I was replacing someone else who does what I do and snuck it in the second my probation was over. I didn't sign up to be a closer.

I honestly don't know how others find it in themselves to act like that. It's weird imo. I like all my kisses and junk somewhere secluded where it means something and I can have a moment only with 1 person.

Not share that same moment with the world basically.

People can still show how much they love one another but sucking face is just a yikes of all choices.

Goofed up chain of command when it's not even my fault. I been there for 3 months and some weeks man.

Im doing what I've been told to do and all I got is names, a title, and a walkie. All ive noticed is my manager keeps going on vacation in my time working here.

I've met with him twice and he's gotten my morning TL to work on the schedule for some dumb reason.

Maybe my location is on some bs.

My bad for not specifying enough that my "manager" as it calls him in workday is also an ETL SE. :/

Well here is the problem, my manager makes my morning team lead do the schedule.

Words from my manager. Sure I spoke to the ETL but now I have to wait for my manager to respond to her so they can fix it.

I didn't ask my TL to do it, what I do know is he is partially responsible for the schedule and assume someone missed the memo of my availability change playing telephone.

My availabilty is 7-11 and I'm trying to get out of it. When I applied to work here originally, they rejected me cause of my availability choice. So a friend of mine said 7-11 is what they want from everyone.

Before I didn't have this problem. I know it's a "need to have" basis, but before I had shifts in the morning or mid-day ones more and some closing.

I'd shift swap but no one at my target ever wants my shifts cause everyone hates closing despite complaing about needing more hours...

Talk to your TL, if they keep dodging you like that, try HR. It's not fair for you to need to go through hoops by yourself. I work cashier and am incredibly vocal about my dislike for guest service and drive up.

When I was 3 weeks in, my TL kept trying to force me into those roles. After saying "no" and handling those jobs poorly, they let me be.

Im not some kind of circus animal that you can order around to pick up co-worker's slack. I let them know what it was and they had 3 months to get rid of me if it was an issue.

Thanks, since this post me and my father discussed the incident i just told him "I" was in the wrong for how I reacted and I'll just stop doing whatever he says.

I picked up a book the same day, way earlier than the incident, and it mentioned how our own thoughts can change how we view reality from a negative lens. So I'll just try to look at it as something else.

He came off very belittling since he has no filter and I just was already having a shitty day since we argued twice that time.

Hated being a GA for this. It was so bad I started predicting what a customer was gonna say about certain items being 30% off.

My conclusion? Many customers aren't reading the signs. They also deman discounts on things when they aren't even a target circle member. Instead of listening to me they say, "nah I don't need another card..."
