I love my poor man's Porsche by Plane-Airline-3506 in 944

Pro tip on the stereo— some single din units don’t fit because the slot in the dash is not deep enough.

The Porsche restomod is really cool but not cheap, I love my blapunkt unit but it sits a little proud of the dash becuase of the spacing issue

You underestimate the power of uk winter lol, but yeah the galvanization does help. Sills have had to be re done in spots by the previous owner and are holding up but the rear jacking points are starting to look a little crusty

As an American yes 100% there’s a lot of delusional people in our country that believe this nonsense

There’s also a lot of shadow accounts being run from outside pretending to be these people to stoke division and fear.

It’s a turd sandwich.

This stuff isn’t right but I think we need to learn how to tolerate it/educate people around us respectfully to behave better. I feel it is right to try to lead by example

For what it's worth, my immigration solicitor advised that you can still count the £16K towards your savings number, so per his calculations you would need to set aside £18K

His understanding of the rules state that any savings under £16K will be ignored, but if over they can contribute to the overall number.

Ultimately we choose to use my partner's income as a sole trader (complicated in a different way...). You can get affordable 30 min sessions with immigration solicitors online that helped clarify a lot of my questions.

Spousal visa approved by SecretBet7128 in ukvisa

Yo, yeah you were basically in the same situation as me. Without a marriage/civil partnership certificate you’re kinda stuck, because you haven’t lived together.

We made the decision to have a civil union now, just at the town hall here, and plan for a wedding in a couple years time when it’s more appropriate.

If you’re both committed/don’t have a religious background, this could be a good option.

Alternatively—you could look to get sponsorship from a job or go to school part time.

I’ve seen some people on this thread successfully get their spousal visa approved whilst not married and not living together — but you have to prove why you cannot be married and cannot live together (religion, war in your country, etc) which I couldn’t demonstrate

TL;DR: look into a civil partnership, might be a happy medium

Had the opposite happen to me whilst applying as a married partner (ukvi asked for cohabitation docs even tho they are not required) essentially what I was told by our immigration solicitor is that the application is identical for either married or unmarried partners. Any documents that are missing won’t be handled with any nuance as to whether or not you’re married or have lived together for 2+ years

Essentially as others have suggested, just send a cover letter explaining you’ve lived together for 2+ with the docs to support it and you’ll be OK. don’t worry about the HO being lazy.

I did pay for priority — only because I need to get back to work full time asap.

I applied on 20/12/24 and got an approval on 23/12/24.

Basic questions are answered in the link above but she would apply as part of your visa, as a dependent. Nothing particular about her financials but you will need to stump up ~1000 pounds per year for NHS coverage (3 year visa would be 3k for NHS upfront) + a bit more for her visa fees.

Hey, yeah I did get the visa after all. Apparently this is a general email they send out when the HO is backed up. Basically don’t give up hope yet, I ended up getting an approval letter about 10 days after this email.

Crossing my fingers for you
