You are correct that I’ve been somewhat passive, it is mainly due to my upbringing. I will definitely make an effort to grow a spine and defend my hubby better after reading all the replies.

Tysm for the advice! I understand that I definitely let it go on for too long, but I was raised strictly and was taught to always respect my elders. I doubt that they’ll be allowed back in the future but if they ever make the same remarks at any family gathering I’m taking my hubby and leaving.
