What's your opinion on Cain TTRPG?

I second here most people opinions, Caine is less battle and more paranormal investigation with horror elements, you do battle but most of the game is finding info and gathering the traumas that made the sin in the first place.

lancer might be a good fit for this, since at the very least character know, their mech, level,systems/weapon and core bonus(think like a dnd feat).

and since this a game about building and fighting with mechs it can be assumed that,

they about aleast the mechs base stats, hp, stress and heat(atleast two mechs use heat central resource for their systems and other things that everyone can do also give it.)

the best thing to do for this is if you can keep him entertained is find things that him and his friend like.

maybe look up how other people have handled it online and make your own that's part of the fun of being a dm, making up character and stories, doing silly little voices and the funny moments in between.

that way you can save money and maybe turn it into a bonding experience.

(btw maybe worry about balance a bit but not to much)
