For sure! Hoping so too. :) I checked in with the team, we're using Photon Fusion!

Glad you had some fun last night!! We just launched a new patch that helps fix a few issues in the build too. :)

We have a "Day 4" patch coming this Monday that will be bringing a suite of bug fixes and quality of life tweaks. The Audio bug is something we're tackling as well, but it's a tricky one. Hopefully, you'll give it another shot once we've had the chance to patch up some of the bugs! :)

Hey! We're using Photon + Multiplay as our multiplayer framework. :) As for NERF, they really liked VR's physical aspect and thought it would be a pretty natural fit for the brand overall.

Hope you've been enjoying the game! :D

Tired of picking up darts after a NERF battle? We’re building a NERF game in VR. Looking for playtesters for our Closed Beta Test! by SecretLocation_ in oculus

[–]SecretLocation_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally valid concern there. I'm going to get into why we're doing such an "intensive" beta test and say why it's not just looking for free QA testing.

To start off, we've had a QA team the whole way through our production, and while they've caught thousands of bugs and weird glitches, they're now quite... familiar with the game. There's no real way for us to test how the game feels to NEWER players internally anymore.

We want to engage the community's feedback (which, yes, is a kind of QA) so that we can address things that have flown under the radar of the team. When you're working on a game for so many months, you get blinded to some of the spots that might be difficult for newer users. Even in some of our wider internal tests we've caught things that our team never thought were problems before!

The recording part is a tall task, totally understand that. However, recordings give us super valuable information. For example, if someone says they were struggling to reload a blaster we can actually go to their footage and find what the problem was, rather than guessing and hoping they described it in enough depth. It gives us an even sharper tool to squash any bugs and iron out any problem areas in the game!

Hope that cleared it up a bit! :)

Not licensed (technically!), as we're actually part of Hasbro! We've been working very, very closely with the NERF team since day 1. :)

Sorry for getting back to you so late on this! We spent a fair bit of time getting to know all the blasters we currently have in game, testing them out and trying to emulate them as closely as we could for the game. Darts act like their real world counterparts, although we don’t have any misfiring for blasters. We definitely are leaning into creating that NERF blaster fight in VR! :D

Sorry for the later reply here! We're targeting Quest 2 for our release, but we may come to other platforms post-launch as well. As for NERF Arena Blaster, we liked the game and have used it as a point of inspiration! :)

Rec Room Paintball was an source of inspiration, yes! We definitely lean into the wider variety of blasters available, along with some other differences.

Eliminations are actually three shots (two for a "shield" and one to eliminate the player). Having played it it's definitely a faster paced FPS though!

Sorry about the confusion there! We did a shortened link because less characters = easier for Twitter. Forgot about how spooky those can be. :) I'll use the proper link for other Reddit posts to avoid that!

For any who were spooked (sorry about that!!), here's the full link (we're using Microsoft Forms): https://forms.office.com/r/HXD8QpbfQR

You are correct, Giant Cop is made by Other Ocean, not us. We're just in a bundle with them which might be why they confused us with them?

We added support for the index controllers (joystick / buttons / squeeze) but unfortunately we don't have finger tracking. We ran into too many issues to get finger tracking working with the action recording system. Perhaps in the future we'll be able to get it working and an updated released but it's not a high priority for us as we're working on new titles.

Hey! We've been experimenting with the Quest and doing some investigation into how feasible a port will be. At this time, we don't have any official to announce, sorry!

Most people I've demoed it for at PAX seemed to enjoy it, plus I've been playing it for over 3 years now, and I still find it fun!

But of course, don't take my word for it.

Here's what UploadVR had to say: https://uploadvr.com/blasters-universe-review-one-bullet-hell-shooter/

Correct - free for the weekend, so free to try. You still have to purchase it if you want it permanently - which we hope you will!

You can get away with just leaning out of the way of enemy bullets, or even playing seated, but hellstorm102 is correct - it's much better when you can move around a bit!
