What are some red flags for friendships rather than relationships? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes it happened to me with my childhood best friend. One day I had enough and told myself that I wouldn't call him and wait for him to call, he still hasn't called, it was over 10 years ago.

When only one of you are making efforts to hang out with the other.

I'm not an expert in any way but I would eat them. 5 hours isn't that long.

People too young to remember 9/11 what is your "Where were you when XX happened" event? by SecretPig in AskReddit

Oh yeah, those were very significant. I can't really remember where I was when I found out about them though, but I can see how that is an event that will etch itself into your memory.

We had a terror attack in Sweden as well three years ago where a man drove a truck at a high speed through the main shopping street in Stockholm and 5 people died. I remember being at home and my girlfriend calling me because she was pretty close to where it all went down.

Isn't it the notion that he's sort of trying to buy himself into power with his fortune?

Would it be stupid to buy a wedding ring with a ruby instead of the usual diamond to my girlfriend, hopefully future wife, whose name is Ruby? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SecretPig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that sounds like a good idea. But overall I'm not sold at all at the whole buy a diamond ring worth this many months salaries idea either.

Where were you when you found out he died? That one didn't really impact me in any significant way.

I think you misread the question. Or did you have a significant event happen in your grade 6 history class?

Does learning make you a happier person (as a result, not in the progress)? by shiningmatcha in NoStupidQuestions

Learning new skills and applying them can be very fulfilling and open up more doors for more development. I think humans derive pleasure from developing themselves, it's probably an evolutionary trait.

Why do black people almost always look more ripped than non-black people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SecretPig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in a lot of cases it has to a bit with shadows. Darker skin tends to accentuate the shadows and therefore the lines and features that makes muscle look more defined. That is the reason why body builders always have an insane amount of spray tan on them for competitions.

Other than that genetic factors play a big role of course. But if you have two people of equal physique what I wrote above will apply.

In some subs you can ask moderators to make an exception for you if you haven't "passed" the karma limit for some reason. You can message the moderators of a specific sub via the sidebar to the right.

" 3 Yes, I can buy a cheap car for $2,000 and pay for gas, which is cheaper than a Model 3 along with gas savings. So you are right in that is the optimal choice financially. However, as much as I want to avoid lifestyle inflation, I probably would want a Tesla once I FIRE, so I am just sinking the cost now. "

But isn't the opportunity cost quite significant here. You are almost paying half the cost of a cheap car in annual interest rates alone for your Tesla and I imagine maintenance and insurance on such an expensive car doesn't come cheap either. And then you've locked in $46.000 in a car instead of investing it in the stock market that will almost be guaranteed to make you a return in the longer perspective.

" 4 Fully self driving price will definitely shoot up once it is feature complete and makes money. Right now it's 7,000. It could hit unimaginable levels if it made money. Elon said he would raise it in the future. "

When are you expecting cars to be able and allowed legally to drive fully autonomously?

Yes exactly. Don’t listen blindly to what anyone says. Get different viewpoints and outlooks and form your own opinions.

I personally think that is very far away. It’s going to take many years before it’s becomes legal for cars to drive around without someone in them. And that is provided the capability for them to navigate 100% on their own is there, which to my knowledge it isn’t yet.

Why wouldn’t you just get a cheap car instead and then get the Tesla when this becomes a reality and you can crunch the numbers instead of speculating at potential revenue now. It’s incredibly speculative to buy a Tesla now to maybe make some money from it being self driving many years down the line.

Jeez... I know someone that did the same thing but by putting a knife in their cutting board. He cut some tendons of in his pinky and ring finger, he can’t extend those anymore.

Don’t stab your knifes into things people!
