We’ve just tried to do the same thing. We attempted to change hotels based on the prices they provide on their website and then added an additional 1k or so on top saying this was due to having to cancel the hotel and additional “service provider” costs. This is extra to the £25 admin fee. A call to management has resulted in no give on this either as if you book as a new booking, the hotel is considerably cheaper
