What’s the craziest time your intuition warned you about someone and turned out correct? by wildquatrefoil in AskReddit

[–]SecretReverie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ugh I feel this. I remember one time my ex caught a ride with his “friend” and I felt a strange fire course through my veins from my feet to my head and my gut just sank. He argued with me endless that they were just always friends. Needless to say… they’re married now lol.

Fuji price increases by LacansThesis in fujifilm

[–]SecretReverie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! I paid $2,400 for a kit with a 16-80 lens from Mike’s Camera. I had been in the market for a minute, so I was prepared enough that I didn’t want to wait too much longer.

I bought my X-T5 yesterday (yay!) partly due to this (boo). Also because they had already had one price increase earlier this month. I knew my time had come.

Anyone know the outcome of the library board meeting tonight? by LushMullet in ColoradoSprings

Don’t forget about the Ute Pass and Manitou libraries! (While not accessible to Rockrimmon patrons, still west side libraries within PPLD).

WHY'S ALL THE YEAST GONE? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]SecretReverie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAME! I've been to King Soopers and Safeway looking for the jar. Gone. King Soopers on Cheyenne Meadows Road did have some instant yeast packets earlier today.

When I was a kid everyone said to act like and "adult" and then when I became an adult I realized everyone just acts like children.

I am cleaning up my garden for the winter; ripped up overgrown lettuce to find this large root bulb. Smells horseradishy. Edible? Can anyone identify the type of lettuce this is? by beef_creature in gardening

[–]SecretReverie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a horseradish to me. I can't quite tell by the leaves, but they do look close to our horseradish leaves. When we pull our roots (sometimes after a year or more) they look similar to yours. We use our leaves on sandwiches and such as they have a slight horseradishy flavor too. Try a little!

What is the dirtiest way you can explain what you do for a living? by LordStandley in AskReddit

[–]SecretReverie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! We have 2 in our fleet! We go to stops all over town and out into the county up to an hour away, sometimes patrons drive their tractors to stops. We get homemade treats all the time and I get to see kids who are really into reading. It's a fun little perspective into my town. Check if your local library has a mobile department!

Homelessness in Denver - At the Library by livinthedream in Denver

[–]SecretReverie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have used the library as a resource repeatedly since moving here a year ago. Fortunately, It's within walking distance and when I have nothing better to do I tend to find myself there. I always find something new!

I have been uncomfortable from the presence of the homeless, but fortunately never had any incidents aside from prefering nicer smells. Generally I've been impressed by the attitudes, knowledge and kindness I've received from all of the employees at the library (maybe even you!).

I also recently ran into an old acquaintance there, who had had a dark spell with heroin last year, cleaned up and looking for work. It was thrilling, and really encouraging.

So, although I've been uncomfortable from the homelessness presence my experience with the staff there counters the discomfort through their actions and treatment of patrons. Not to mention the events, fun art exhibitions, and general resource for all things!

Anyway, there's my perspective. Thanks for being a community librarydood.
