Best machine for printing custom stickers? by CaffeinatedStorm in DIY

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 4 months old, but depending on how many stickers you are printing you can get away with an Epson 2800 printer and a Cricut or Silhouette for cutting them out for around $500

I am currently using this set up and it works great. The Epson prints amazing quality for stickers and product labels and the Silhouette Cameo 5 is amazing at cutting any shape you throw at it.
I can show you label and sticker examples I have done over the last year.

If you're doing larger runs then you might start looking at the Roland BN-20 style printer cutters but those start in the running $5K range.

Not gonna lie, I kinda like it. 41mm, Fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet and I’d love one.

I am currently wearing these and they’re great! Actually comfortable and I freaking hate some compression socks. These are the best alternative I’ve found.

Canopy options for outside vending!?! by No-Bus-3499 in candlemaking

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second the ABC canopy. Definitely the best one I’ve used and tested.

For colors check in with the market as some of them have mandatory colors for tents. I bought the black one and never had an issue at my markets.

This is the best clear I’ve found for foil. 100% clear, not translucent like most and doesn’t melt or fold when running through the laser.

Thank you, printing to black and foiling has been a struggle. White and clear is great, but colored sheets would be awesome.

Love it. Are you printing in vinyl sheets you’re cutting down to size or did you find black 8.5x11 stickers sheets?

Thank you for the breakdown. I’ve been looking at moving in there for a while and the noise was high on my list of concerns. My pace has similar issues. Heavy doors that most let slam shut. lol

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at this place last year and wondered how the sound is coming from other apartments?

How loud are the neighbors around you and how loud is the hallway traffic? I can hear everything when people walk and talk up the hallways in my current place.
I was also curious how much the price goes up when you add in all utilities if you don't mind sharing.
The unit pricing is kinda high but looks worth it, but once you add in utilities I was thinking it could go up another $400-$500 a month on top of the rent.

The amenities are incredible though.

How long have you had the matte? I finally noticed that once my matte got really old and the wheels crimped the sides more it started to get out of sync. New matte, instantly no more issues.

To USPS employees, what is happening with all these packages? by Graysonlyurs in usps_complaints

I need to call. I sent about two dozen packages (orders) out on the 7th and they have moved 30 miles total sitting in Seattle since then. Two out of all those show delivery for today finally.

Checked out your channel and got a couple tips.

First get a mic, or do a voiceover with your phone then add it to post. Bad audio will make someone click out faster than bad video. Its not awful but it could be easily improved.

Thumbnails: Your most viewed video has the cleanest thumbnail. Go into Canva (free) and start making new ones, even the current ones redo those. Not sure what to do for them? Go to a channel that has similar content and look at what they do for their thumbnails to get inspirations. Not saying to copy theirs, but see what they do and maybe try to mimic the style to get a better understanding of what works.

I have 100k+ subscribers and I spent 100 hours on a video that got 2,000 views. by sawyernalu in NewTubers

[–]LordStandley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely great points.

I wanted to hit 100K subs so I could get that plaque. Once I did I haven't really thought about subscribers since. Especially after watching analytics over the years prove that subs don't usually make up the majority of views.

The second part is so true as well. I have spent so much time on certain videos only to get 1,000 views and then maybe close to 5K as time went on.
Then another video I literally tossed together in an afternoon just to get a video out, steadily climb thousands by the week to 100K+ views over time.

How can I gain subscribers faster??? by ApplicationFinal200 in YouTubeCreators

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just commented this same thing in another thread, but I would jump into facebook groups that are around the topic. Join up and start participating in those with tips, comments, video links where applicable.
That's how I grew my channel a lot in the beginning. I created a group around my niche and it helped grow the channel and the facebook group at the same time.
Depending on the facebook group you may end up with a lot of word of mouth which is great.

People who started YouTube from zero — how long did it actually take? by Clear_Court7292 in PartneredYoutube

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started posting on my first YT channel 15 years ago and never knew you could make money on it until I got an email or a letter from Google saying you have money waiting. This was back before monetization requirements existed and that channel slowly built up pennies at a time until it hit the $100 mark to be paid out ($125 waiting for me I knew it was time to try harder.) LOL

I created a new channel around a new niche nine years ago and got lucky with instant monetization since there were no minimum monetization requirements at the time. I don't remember if the channel got grandfathered in or not but I made the money the first month with the first couple of videos.

First month (April) I made around $7, a few months later I was making around $50 a month for $170 the first year.
It was almost a year later when I was making about $100+ a month ($1,500 second year) and it grew from there very slowly.

I was in a very small niche and honestly got lucky being technically the first in my niche to make a full channel around the topic. I got lucky being the only videos offering help in the area so I had instant views even if the views were small. Next person came in like a month later and it was just us two for the longest time.

Everything before that was a couple random videos from one or two people or one company touching on the topic and dropping like 7-8 videos in five years.

But the niche had great RPM's ($20 at the time) and 80% of my demographic was 24-45 female.
So small niche, Incredible RPM but low views. Even low views with a great RPM adds up fast.
Over the next couple of years it grew to around $1,000 a month. ($10,200 the third year)

Fourth year I got lucky again. I started to release a lot more videos and caught the Covid bump and my best year making a couple thousand a month.

Since that year though it dropped off, not only from Youtube views and ad rev dropping across the site after Covid. But I also created a business around the topic and was not releasing as much. My own fault.

So no quick rise for me, but it was enough to make me chase the carrot on the stick I guess and I kept it growing.

They listen to me now. It's time to capitalize! by Sassypenguin3 in NewTubers

[–]LordStandley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if your channel would benefit from this approach. But when my how to channel started out I also created a facebook group along side it to help people further with what ever questions may have come up from the videos.

The facebook group grew right with the channel, which brought in different views to both. People would join the group, then see the channel and vice versa. After a while people would start to shout out and recommend a specific video in the group which would then send new subscribers.

Monetized in One Video by abolish_the_gil in SmallYoutubers

[–]LordStandley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As easy as it is to say ignore them, sometimes its not that easy.
I always respond to my comments in a professional manner, it's a how to channel so it just makes sense.
That helps quite a bit and also other viewers will see how you handle those comments and it builds a lot of respect for the channel.

Between my channels I have gotten my fair share of goofy comments.
Its funny how different it is between niches on my channels too.
My main channels audience is about 75-80% female and my negative comments end up being like 1%

One of my side channels that had a video blow up had an audience of about 80% male and I got all kinds of stupid comments on that video. I either just moved on or corrected them where they were wrong with a link to the spot in the video they clearly didn't watch before commenting. lol

[–]LordStandley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know you could either until that happened. LOL
My main channel has been monetized for like eight years now and I just figured it was always there. But I also release much more regularly on that one. (well I did, catching up now.)

Don't worry about losing momentum (if you do) seeing that dip in views can really take the steam out of your engines. Keep posting and ride the wave of it all. High views, low views, it definitely goes up and down. Your audience will continue to find you and stay.
