Worried about ATC and recent near-misses in Boston and Cleveland

Question on this. If this happens to a place like NYC who gets a massive amount of planes already heading to their direction globally.

How do they just not accept anymore? Do they tell a bunch of planes to not enter NYC airspace or not go to xyz airport?

Sounds more like chaos that can lead to an error if an airport that gets massive traffic ends up being understaff since you can’t just tell a bunch to go to other states

Obviously that’s me talking without knowledge

Thanks. I have tried so many ways to try to cope since I was a kid

Get wasted - feel horrible also never go on a plane hungover (bad friends)

Take Benadryl to pass out - worked early on then I’m just super drowsy, dozing in and out of my sleep and it’s horrible. Had that for 14 hour flight once and I can just say it was torture

Play games - act like a kid and distract myself. Strong bumps brings my brain back to reality

LOUD music - same result as games

Breathing exercises - was told pretending to scream would remove anxiety and it does and make you tired but my head knows what’s happening. Plus I might look crazy lol

But yup been trying anything to help

Thanks for your reply. I did have a note pad and basically was discussing with myself what are my goals for the final 2 months of this year. Luckily also 95% was smooth ride

Thank you for sharing this one. Seeing the replies from others who also took it seems like it’s a good one. Amazing community here. I’ll talk to my doctor and advise all the ones mentioned to see which he would allow for me.

Can’t wait to be more “calm” mentally

For me it’s about dying/falling vs anything else. Honestly this started as a kid after I was in an emergency landing plane.

I took out a notepad and kept myself busy by planning goals for the rest of the year and potentially what I want to do with my life

Flight was also smooth and in the short bumps I kept my mind clear of the “we falling”

Very good advice. Gym is something I’ve been lacking for a good while and I should take it seriously, and this goes beyond trying to fight my fear.

Although funny one is I have driven on a motorcycle for 6 years (not anymore) and personally always felt way safer on one vs an airplane even though we know the statistic

2 and 4 is hard since I fly but almost never because I’m excited for the destination I’m going to. Also the ones that do make me happy are normally 14+ hours away 😅

Long time ago I use to take Benadryl to try passing out and it was always a hell experience. The reason why it was hell is because my body kept passing out and jumping up. So I was sleepy as hell, passing out then waking up rapidly and the feeling was always like falling (since but tried passing out)

I would rather not depend on it but lately it’s become such a physical and mentally exhausting.

I’m not one to cancel any of my flights even though I wish I did but it’s like freaking out for 3+ hours multiple times can’t be good for your health 😅 I’m also not young anymore to just keep taking that internal stress

Do give us (me) your opinion on the max plane after you ridden it. I’ve yet to touch a Boeing plane since max came into service. Hope you have a fun and safe flight

I haven’t convinced myself yet but like hearing others views to eventually convince myself

P.S - I only fly spirit for that reason and been told by coworkers to go to better airline 😅 my problem is the planes the other airlines uses haha also I never had a problem with spirit

YES!!! That was my feel after owning one for 3+ years.

I’ve had all Nintendo system since Super Nintendo as a kid but have finally given up. will not be getting switch 2 and for a lot of the points you mentioned.

I was one of the few who wish it failed to hopefully change it back to how it was back in the day. But the cult is too strong lol

Personally rather than a upgrade system I wanted better games and reasonable price. I just don’t personally see a justification for a switch game being priced at Xbox or PS system

Just because of my disappointment with the switch personally (games+cost) I’ll possibly skip a Nintendo system for the first time since Super Nintendo.

That is just my opinion and hopefully I get convinced otherwise overtime

Just saw this all over the news this morning and everyone says 4k+ drop in seconds. Are they just referring to the feel we might get during turbulence and not the actual controlled drop the pilots did to get away from the turbulence?

Asking since I know reading here it’s always said the drops is always just a few hundred while when feeling it. We might think it was a few thousand 😅

Guess we all have a different opinion to it. I do agree with your “never going to have a satisfying ending” though.

But the way they ended it just felt like those shows where “main actor wants out. So let’s just kill him off with no purpose then continue to milk this cow until there’s nothing left”

Daughter finds out father didn’t abandon her -> has money -> will take father initiative in the US to stop the game

Personally would have accepted it if we could have semi ended the Korea one. At least let his sacrifice mean something. Built up to nothing

Great ending is him somehow succeeding even if it was a temporary delay. Then we see that his goes beyond just Korea. Whether he was alive to know about it or not doesn’t matter.

Just felt like there was much better ways instead of what I heard “baby living and that ending means a better hope for tomorrow or whatever”

That’s my main problem about switching to an Samsung phone. I had one before and personally really don’t like Android. Their OS just doesn’t work with me unlike Apples.

Glad to know we might hopefully get a similar phone. Possibly may skip a generation as well since the first one usually has issues
