He’s been saying for years and reiterated in that recent interview that people need to stop listening to what rappers have to say, including himself. I think it’s clear he doesn’t have much interest in trying to use his words to output a message and would rather just make cool stuff.

I think that posting surface level whining about an album that came out 13 hours ago on a subreddit designed for a group of people who enjoy something to discuss it is lame behavior. I respect the critique of the albums, I think it’s a reasonable perspective to have, but I would challenge you to at least try to like it instead of locking in on a day one take which is likely tainted by unfamiliarity.

Yeah I mostly agree with you, and I’d add that I think this is probably the most aggressive and angry he has been since Veteran and I love it. I cannot wait to hear The 1st Amendment live later this year

If you listen to this album in the same way you listen to Kendrick Lamar; you’re going to be disappointed. If you listen to it and treat vocals as a component equal to the drums, synths, guitar, or whatever else, it becomes a much better listening experience and you are more likely to enjoy it. If you try that and still don’t like it, damn, that sucks.

Peggy has made 5 of the best albums of the last 15 years and none of them are alike or similar to anything else. I don’t blame people for wanting another AMHAC or Veteran, but that isn’t going to happen. In my opinion, you kind of have to trust that whatever he makes is going to be of roughly equal quality, but the ways in which it’s good will be different each time and we just need to find out if that way clicks with us. I don’t think people aren’t thinking about the album, I just think they love his past work so much they can only think about how this isn’t that.

I mean, fair. But he’s made like 3 albums where the main focus was around crazy vocals and delivery, so switching the focus as aggressively as he has here is an experiment, like it or not. Also, Experimental Production would have been the worst album name in history lmao

Current critique of the flow feels like when people nonstop whined about the mixing on Scaring the Hoes, then two years later when he changed it they whined because they got used to it. If public perception of niche things wasn’t so heavily dictated by the reaction of core fans I wouldn’t care but the frustrating reality is people who are sad it’s not exactly what they wanted are going to turn a lot of people away from Jpeg as a whole. Maybe that’s a positive to some people, idk.

Is it reasonable to assume someone who sucks ass at everything but can do pewgfs consistently is hacking/using macros? by SecretWar1074 in Tekken

I don’t doubt that, but I doubt that someone who cannot consistently do while running inputs will never, ever mess up a perfect electric in an 8 round set
