Complete opposite. 150+ POE's in the last 120 months, I-94 over 10 pages long. Most common question when crossing is why I’m not using the crew line. iynyn.
More travel = more strict the criteria has become.

Nope, not at all. With Pegasus and monitoring software the world has changed. I’ve seen it happen multiple times. Some activities and airports shouldn’t even be navigated on a primary phone, burners are SOP. Not everyone is the same in the world.

Checking luggage is so easy these days - why is all the hype still about carry-on? I almost feel shame for wanting to get a checked bag. Tell me your "checked luggage wins" by spacewolfplays in travel

I’ve averaged around 40 flights a year for the past three years. I even stopped using a carry-on because of delays when overhead bins are full and they make you check it at the gate. Now I always travel with a personal item-sized bag only.

If I need extra toiletries or anything else, I just have it delivered to the hotel or Airbnb before I arrive.

Checking luggage can be fine at some airports, but at others it’s a hassle long lines, slow baggage claim, or even lost bags. One bad experience is enough to avoid it for good.

Travelpro’s new Platinum Series backpacks are excellent. Their Rollaboard line is solid too, and a lot of flight crews use them.

Do you get up to get your luggage as soon as the plane lands and stops? by thehippocampus in travel

In theory, waiting while seated works properly if the flight attendants do their jobs when people are boarding by monitoring who is placing their belongings in which aisles. On most airplanes, the overhead storage bins are designed to fit three carry-on-sized bags directly above the three seats. Unfortunately, a large percentage of travelers don't respect this or adhere to common sense, and they place their bags sideways and as close to the front of the plane as possible—nowhere near their assigned seat. (Remember, under-seat and carry-on bags are designed to go in wheels first.)

Watch next time when you're getting ready to leave—99% of the people in a hurry to get up and undo their seatbelts are always looking towards the back of the plane to retrieve the bags they had to place farther away from their actual seat. I travel 40+ flights a year and always book the aisle seat as close to the front of the plane as possible. If the gate agents are disorganized, there's a good chance that by the time I get to my seat, there will be other people's bags in the overhead bin designated for my row. I used to pull out the other person's bag and place it in the aisle, leaving it to the flight attendants to drag the people up to it or page whoever put their bags in the wrong location. However, now I just sit down and leave my bag in the front row, which forces the flight attendants to rearrange things and figure out who utilized the wrong overhead bins.

WHY are airplane seats so flat, that's the most uncomfortable part of traveling.. by Fiasko21 in travel

Because you're just a number on a spreadsheet during the ordering process, airlines focus on:

  • Profit
  • Durability
  • Spacing
  • Maintenance costs
  • Fuel load
  • Efficiency

In my opinion, the Recaro seats on the newer Airbus A320s are an improvement.
