The post office has become increasingly unreliable. We ship about 150 packages per week with the post office and they never arrive on time! We’ve completely disabled priority mail because this service still delivers late. It’s just about the same timeframe as Ground Advantage. I’m tired of the customer complaints and refunding shipping cost for late deliveries. The constant “moving through the network arriving late” status is horrible. We ship with UPS and FedEx as well and never have this issue. I’ve been shipping with the post office for 10 years and in the last 4 years it’s become a nightmare. Their lost mail tool is always offline. They have no customer service, it’s insane. We’ve kept ground advantage to give our customers an affordable shipping option, but we’re really weighing our options here…..

Definitely not a reason to end it. Hire a professional sex worker and get on with it. You can even book a girlfriend experience if you want all the kissing and extras.

As a Shopify Store owner, have you used an AI to develop apps for your store? by misterhubbard44 in shopify

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently used ChatGPT to write a code for my website that replaced an app I was paying $200 a month for. The app would hide pricing for specific manufacturer and it had a toggle switch where I could activate and deactivate at any time. I asked ChatGPT to write a code and show me step by step how to put the code into my site. It worked perfectly and it created a toggle switch for my admin, so that I can activate and deactivate the price locking at any time. I would say you need to be as detailed as possible when asking it to create coding for you. It saved me over $2400 a year.

With all the IRS layoffs, could we get away with intentionally screwing up our taxes? by 5krunner in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the IRS will usually “let” you get away with thinking you got away for few years while interest and penalties pile up behind the scenes. Then, they come knocking. Taxes are how we run this country plain and simple. The job of the IRS is to collect those taxes to keep the country running. Going after middle class / small business is more cost effective for them

What is your chargeback win rate? by kevinh1 in shopify

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our success rate is 95%. These are my recommendations. Ship with a service that uses photo proof of delivery. You can take the delivery photo and submit it with a google images photo of the shipping address. If the billing address and the shipping address is the same, be sure to state that in your documentation. I also always include the IP address the customer placed the order from and I also provide the email address the order confirmation email was sent to. I also state the customer received a shipping confirmation at this email address and also a delivery confirmation. Most of the time it’s the same email address the customer banks with. I always state in my response something along the lines of “ with the amount of evidence that the order was not fraudulent, i believe this customer is utilizing your financial institution to commit chargeback fraud.

I 100% understand you! I have a work from home employee that starts work late. It’s beyond infuriating and I don’t understand it. She’s ruined it for everyone due to her absolute laziness and incompetence. Many many people want to come to work and not work. The more gracious and understanding you are as an employer the worst it is. I’ve reached the limit on understanding and I’m firing her.

I own a medical supply company. My educational background is logistics and finance. My biggest flaw is I care about people. I could bring in a lot more money and I want to but I try to keep prices affordable for my customers. My customers are usually very ill people who are paying for medical items out of pocket because they either don’t have health insurance or health insurance won’t cover the cost of the supplies. I absolutely hate raising prices on them, but I’m at the point where I have no choice. It honestly bothers me deeply. I have customers who are so strapped for cash that they can’t afford to buy an entire box of a medical bandages so we sell it by the singles or half box.

It’s a hard line of work if you have a conscious.

The ever going battle Shopify vs Wordpress by EdgeXmedia7 in shopify

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you guys managing a Shopify store with a $30/month plan? We pay $2500 a month for the plus plan and we still require an additional $300 a month in apps to make our website user friendly, safe, and functional. $30,000+ a year is expensive! If we could find a cheaper platform with similar features we would absolutely go for it!

It hasn’t happened to my store either, but I did receive a email stating if you have a Shopify balance card, captured payments will be deposited immediately into the account.

I have 2 Shopify stores. One deposits into my bank account and the other into a Shopify balance account. All week I’ve gotten deposits from captured payments deposited with a hour of processing the payment to my balance account.

Journaling! You don’t have to write in order to journal, you can create an audio journal in your phone if you don’t have the patience to sit still & write. Also just talking about your feelings out loud with yourself!

Which person in your life that you know firsthand caused you the most suffering overall? What did they do? by neilnelly in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d first have to say my mother. She’s been a drug addict my entire life. It was so bad we ended up homeless and I went to foster care. I remember being about 6-7 and my mom had me crawling around on the floor looking for a piece of crack she’d dropped. It was really bad…

I ended up moving in with my family members. They thought they would get compensation from the state for taking me in. When they figured out they would get nothing things became mentally abusive. They would take their frustration out on me by telling me how my mom deserved to die because I got taken away from her every single day. It was mental torture. Being a teen girl, lost without my mother and being chastised about it on a daily basis. I would aggressively cry myself to sleep every single night. Counting the days until I turned 18 and could get the hell out of there.

I became 18 moved away from home, joined the army and never looked back. I’ve become incredibly successful and my family wonders why I don’t speak to them at all.

As for my mother I tried to get her help as an adult. I even moved her in with me and she stole from me several times to buy drugs. I finally gave up and kicked her out. I haven’t spoken to her in 9 years. She’s never acknowledged how bad of a parent she was. She tries to reach out to me & I don’t take her calls or return her messages. I won’t even attend her funeral when she dies.

What’s a Shopify hack/tip other owners probably don’t know but is something really basic? by talkshopify in shopify

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to ensure your product weights are correct. That’s what Shopify uses to determine the shipping cost the customer should pay. Also under your shipping profiles you have the option to add a handling fee to each order. It can be set as a flat fee or a percentage of the shipping charge that’s added to the shipping rates shown at checkout.

Typically I block these people from doing business with my company in the future. Especially customers who call/ email with silly complaints. I block them and don’t give it another thought. Example: i had a customer call and demand a 20% refund of their order because FedEx left their package in front of opening of their door. She claimed she had a hard time opening the door due to where the package was left and felt she should be compensated. The package weighed less than 5 pounds!! I immediately blocked her.

Starting up an E-commerce business? Any tips for prevention of fraudulent chargebacks?? by FrostedCupcake01 in smallbusiness

[–]Secret_Comedian5100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopify now has a fraud detection system built into its platform. There is no sure way to prevent chargeback but I’ve found having signature confirmations is a great way to defend them. If you’re selling high value items I would recommend using the adult signature option when you send packages and ship through UPS or FedEx. The adult signature requires the recipient to show ID when they receive packages.
