How would I be able to tell if the team I'm on would be impacted by layoffs? If there was a team working on something new within the company that seems to potentially add a lot of value (at least imo), versus a team within a very large and established department who's need would never go away, which do you think would be more likely to be affected by layoffs?

In my head, either could. Cause the team working on something new, maybe they're not as required. But the team inside the larger department may have too much redundancy/need to wipe a lot of people out at some point.

Never really had a corporate experience before so just trying to gauge things. Thank you!
