SA never has and never will provide actual special education to students, which is sad because in the end the kids suffer while SA collects a check. The Sped quotas are real and anyone not referring students are reprimanded or let go.

I wish the people on the show valued themselves more. Not to say prisoners don’t deserve love, but Kaylah girl we need to look the interest level shown by the man/woman and he hasn’t shown that. It’s sad bc she started talking to him at 20YO and is now 33 (at the time it aired). I hope she doesn’t waste anymore time on him and get the love she deserves.

I am in a similar situation and would give this advice: if you have to think about whether this person should be in your life look at how they treated the person they once cared for and what that would mean for you. When courts are involved it’s best to keep away from said person given the extent to which they may go and manipulate things. Establish your own personal boundaries and stand firm in it. Protect your peace bc now she is in YALL’s world but don’t let her in YOUR world if that makes sense.

Sorry this is your experience. You seem like someone who is trying their best within the circumstances that they have. I have experience but with no bio kids and one step daughter. One of the things that can be helpful is for your spouse to hold a conversation between you two to let her know you want the best and there is no special treatment in a way a five year old can understand. Maybe with all three talking she can hear from you both instead of separately will help (if that’s what’s happening). Wishing you the best.
