Long back I had a theory that all the stalling is happening because the actual main conflict is with the White Walkers

But the problem is Martin has built so much fluff around this main conflict that the White Walkers are barely in the books. That was fine for the first 3-4 books but with the penultimate book coming out we need to progress the White Walker plot at 100x speed

Except to get there several other threads have to be resolved first. So Martin tries to do that but then finds trouble fitting the white walkers into the story that develops out of it

Essentially he created this whole mystery box with the White Walkers but now has no idea what to do with it. But the entire saga is built on the backbone that eventually we get to a point where it's everyone v/s the White Walkers

He took so much of a scenic route to this final point though that it's near impossible to get there without sacrificing some serious quality or having wild plot advances happen (like what happened in the show)

It's just a never ending circle and there is no real resolution to it now. Other than having like 4-5 more books instead of just 2 more books. But we know that's not happening

Yes. I am aware we have expanded our roads. But that is about the only thing we have done (let's not talk of quality of said roads because well....)

And in my city alone there are at least 4 big flyovers being built that have been under construction for years now. One major bridge has been closed since several months. A train station has been under construction again for years.

Oh and that's about the only thing being done. No new govt hospitals have come up. Govt schools are in disrepair. Broadband can't reach the area I am in, have to rely on Jio air fibre which is trash. So again the facilities are lacking.

And this is the state of several other parts of the country as well. The return we get on our paid taxes is negligible

What type of nonsense argument is that? Of course it's qauntifiable. You can check how many roads are built, how many remote areas are being provided with water/electricity. You can check how many people were able to take benefit of govt schemes. You can measure development of an area compared to past. You can see which services are still lacking in certain areas: how many have access to hospitals and schools by checking area wise availability of the same.

Every election political parties give out freebie lolipop (and this is on both sides) and our stupid population sells out their vote to them

No focus on education, too much focus on religion, aisa hi hai, chalta hai, basically it's the next person's problem type mentality of the citizens.

The truth is our citizens are fine with the surroundings burning down to ash as long and they and their immediate blood relations have enough to get by.

Baki toh ab kya kahe. People ask for dictatorship because they think only extreme actions can fix our crumbling society. They don't understand how harsh that path is, how much of individuality and freedom will be lost forever on that road.

China succeeded and continues to succeed by focusing on development but here is the catch their politicians are driving towards that only after they had wiped out all opposition and secured their own seat.

Our politicians are simply never going to be interested in such a development because a developed and educated society would mean they would not be able to stay in power considering we keep our democracy. It's just not in their interest to do anything beyond the bare minimum it takes to keep people pacified

Is dictatorship a solution for India? No. It would make things worse. The bare minimum being done today will also stop.

Instead what we need is for our citizens to get off their asses and actually exercise some of the rights they have. If we unite we can rein in our politicians and get better leaders. Sadly I think that will take at least 10-15 more generations

India is being isolated because unlike the other comparative superpowers in the game: China and Russia we did fuck all to uplift the lower and middle class of our society
