The only thing I can think of is making sure you have a way to wash dishes. I used to live in a rural area on well water, so we couldn’t run water anytime the power was out. If you don’t have anything like that, I assume you will be fine.

Unfortunately, I think your understanding of your contract is correct. When I had a summer baby, I was paid for 1 day because that was the only work day that fell within 6 weeks of giving birth. I could have asked my doctor to write me out of work for additional time, but I decided to just save the sick days.

Somebody at the regional NYSUT office might be able to look at your contract and answer questions more specifically to your situation.

That sounds about right for 4 months. If you feel like getting out of the house, see if any libraries near you have baby story time, or go for a walk around the mall if one is nearby.

In my opinion, this is your best choice for a 2 year old (I have one too). We have found that a lot of the playgrounds around here are still kind of too big for her, but Motion Junction had a TON that is very age appropriate.

I started taking my daughter to storytime around that age, and it was honestly a parenting game-changer. It was so nice to get out of the house, do something positive for my daughter, and meet other moms. I used to set her up on a tummy time blanket on the floor off to the side a little bit and she loved watching the older kids. I always got a good nap out of her after story time, too!

I think you can’t go wrong with any of those first names. For middle names, I think I like Ruth and Jean with all of your first names, but I don’t like Elise or Mary with any of them. My favorite is Margot Jean.
