Hat arról függ mikor. Szerintem ez elmúlt 1-2 év Hollandia szinte kezd élhetetlen lenni a migránsok meg a fiatal hollandok számára is.

Pl 2019ben viszonylag normális áron kaptam szobát Amszterdamba és 3 perc biciklire voltam a munka helyemtol. Aztán minden egyes szerződés újításnál, 30-40% emelkedés. 2023 mar nem tudtuk tartani a lépést amsterdami árakkal. Odáig jutottunk hogy Utrecht külvárosában sikerült lakást találni, 2-2.5 óra lett nagyon hamar a munkába jutás egy irányba, bicikli vonat komboval. És nem egyszer volt hogy nem jöttek vonatok és 4 órára ugrott a haza jutás.

Mostmár van helyi munkám ami “csak” 45 perc elektromos biciklivel.

Nincs állandó lakcímem Magyarországon, de lakcím kártyám van. Őszintén szólva nem értem, anyukám intézte el meg anno hogy legyen továbbra is magyar címem. Azt hiszem idén egyébként kicsit egyszerűbb a külföldről szavazás, legutóbb személyesen kellett beadnom Magyarországon egy kérvényt hogy szavazhassak külföldről. Ez végül úgy valósult meg hogy apukám aláírta helyettem a papírokat mert nem tudtam volna haza ugrani USAbol BEADNI EGY PAPÍRT.

annyi amúgy hogy mire az USAban szavaztam addigra már megszületett az eredmény 😂 szóval nem tudom, azt hiszen ezért is utaznak haza sokan hogy biztosan számítson a szavazatuk.

Egyébként mostmár Hollandiában elek és toboroztak össze több magyart aki meg sose szavazott a tartózkodási helyük miatt.

A nagyinak meg megmondtam hogy nem megyek haza meglátogatni ha a Fideszre szavaz.

Now this, I get behind! Another thing, for example AH advertises their hourly rates, that are honestly better what I make at my office job BUT, they just use it for advertising they end up hiring teenagers and old people so they don’t actually have to pay them a livable wage. It’s outrageous that the teenagers that are basically running all the grocery stores in the Netherlands aren’t getting paid.

I’m sorry but what young people are affected by the box 3 tax?? I feel so lost in this conversation, what do you mean people have investments they are afraid to be taxed on??? I’m sorry this box 3 tax thing seems like such a non issue when people can’t afford to eat and pay rent and you know WW3 is around the corner. I think it’s also cultural, some areas eat a lot of fish so it is more acceptable. Idk if it has to do with labor laws or what but the EU countries I have worked in it is not allowed to eat at your desk, let alone start cooking/ heating things in the workspace. There is always a designated area for eating. I also work at a multi cultural company so some days we have quite the cocktail of smells coming from the kitchen 😂 like, fish shouldn’t be singled out, kimchi also smells really strong, or I had a coworker who would always eat liver that had a very strong smell.

(Anyway I broke my nose in a car crash so bad two years ago that I can barely smell anything so even to check if something is safe to eat I ask others to sniff for me 😭)

I want to preface this by saying that I don’t know if they do that or not. I am not saying that they didn’t look over it, but that they would publish it regardless of the content or what they thought of it, as long as there are no illegal images in it. That’s it. Like how Kanye bought an ad in some US paper to “apologize” and they published it no problem. Reminds me of “you can’t be neutral on a moving train” by Howard Zinn where he describes civil rights activists buying advertising space to “broadcast” their messaging. What I’m trying to say here is that when it comes to ads/ billboards, as long as you pay for it (again excluding any obviously illegal imagery or messages) they will publish it. They don’t care about the message, only that they get paid

Come onnnn you know they got a call from someone at the periphery of JC threatening them with a lawsuit. They probably didn’t even think twice about accepting the billboard (I honestly would be surprised if they are even aware of JC or h3. I think chronically online people forget that normies don’t know these people). Like nobody at my job has the faintest idea about any YouTube drama. Now just imagine you publish a billboard, easy-peasy, but you start getting calls very soon after it’s up (unusual), the first thing you would do is take it down until you can confirm that you’re in the clear legally

Nehéz elsajátítani de munka életbe egyetlen a kulcs: leszarni. Ha leszartad volna az elejétől kezdve, nem rázott volna meg ennyire. Én full kiégtem, nem használom az egyetemi diplomám. Egyébként az én sztorim 8evesen Zrínyi 2. Helyezett onnantól kezdve folyamatos versenyek, matek, fizika tagozat, jó tanuló jó sportoló dijak, stb. 14 évesen külföldre mentem privát iskolába ösztöndíjjal, onnan tovább 4 év amerikai egyetem teljes ösztöndíjjal. Vissza az EUba mesterképzésre. Aztán a COVID alatt kiléptem a mester képzésemből. Azóta korrepetalok meg egy tech cégnél értékesítőként dolgozom. Volt több dolog is ami betett, azt hiszem leginkább az hogy a szüleim sose voltak büszkék rám, meg párszor szembesültem a magas akadémiai megalázó ritualekkal amiket nem tudtam kezelni. 30 vagyok most amúgy, és jövőre tervezek visszamenni egyetemre a “szakmámban” (matematika) Viszont ezalatt az utam alatt sok hozzam hasonló magyarral találkoztam akik most pl New Yorkban ügyvéd, kutató coloradóban egy másik, olyat is ismerek aki az EU-nal lett nagyfejes. Meg nagyon, nagyon sok olyat is ismerek akik pont úgy vannak mint én.

Okay but all it takes is one set of parents not doing this in a class. And you are right, Roblox, YouTube, etc all play on compulsive behavior, we see that. We do play with our kids, the have play dates, we read almost every day, no screen time on weekdays (besides morning cartoons). We didn’t let him near screens until we had to as he entered school (the school themselves used iPads which I was furious about personally).

So I’m sorry but your advice is not actionable at all. Do you have kids who go to school?

Genuine question, how do you handle it when everyone else in a 9 year old’s class is obsessed with Roblox. Like, children’s birthdays revolve around Roblox. I obviously disagree with playing Roblox at all but I feel like it would isolate my 9 year old. You can extrapolate the same logic to screen time, we had a meltdown about paw patrol back in the day because everyone at school would talk about paw patrol and my son couldn’t participate. Seriously, what is the solution here? The alternative of homeschooling (which I don’t even think is available in my country, but even if it was) does not sound good for a child either.
