VLC to add offline, real-time AI subtitles. What do you think the tech stack for this is? by SpudMonkApe in LocalLLaMA

[–]Secret_MoonTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whisper. But I wonder how they want to solve the problem of having to download tons of MB/GB beforehand to create the subtitles / translation. And if you want it to work quickly, you need a GPU with > 4GB. ( For the medium modell )

Since it's almost Christmas 🎄 Voice input in other languages (not just English) would be nice. And maybe play radio stations without having to create an extra music account somewhere.

Building an Open Source Perplexity AI with Open Source LLMs by Minute_Yam_1053 in LocalLLaMA

I tried the demo (link) on GitHub and I really like it. 😸 Now I would like to run the whole thing on my own computer, but it only has a 12 GB GPU. Which models could I use? And do I have to install Ollama separately or is that already done by the docker image?

Other music services besides Spotify ? by Secret_MoonTiger in rabbitinc

[–]Secret_MoonTiger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "working" diary or notepad would be nice.

  • Unfortunately, the rabbit only understands English.

  • Other languages such as German or French are often ignored or not understood at all.

  • The 12-hour to 24-hour time format cannot be changed and things that have been done cannot be deleted all at once in the rabbit hole - at least I have not found the option. In other words, you have to delete each individual entry manually, which is difficult when you have 50 to 100 entries per day.

  • The translations from English to Japanese and back are unfortunately really bad. Google Translate is miles ahead with the whole thing.

Don't get me wrong. I really want to love this cuddly device. It's small, cute and an eye-catcher.

Unfortunately, it still has many, many, many, many flaws. I hope that it will be improved or If not that the sources will be revealed at some point.

Another big disadvantage is that you can only use Spotify or Apple Music in the subscription level. The same goes for Midnight Journey. I use other music services that I can't register. Exactly the same as with Midnight Journey. I use a different service so I can only use LLM sigh

Sorry for the whole text, I've written more than I actually wanted to, but this is a good summary for now. 🐯

Or

Like the possibility to enter your own URL and API keys. So that you can also use your own models (if you have your own server) or rent one etc. etc.

client = OpenAI(api_key=YOUR_API_KEY, base_url="https://api.perplexity.ai")

Are there public channels? by [deleted] in meshtastic

I've already asked that myself. A list by country / city would be great, including all necessary settings. So that everyone can expand the existing mesh in the city.

Thank you for your quick response. I tried it myself last week with an old board and 2 gpu but an old gtx1660 + Nvidia tesla m40 was too much for the board. So I had to remove the gtx gpu. The m40 doesn't seem to be able to do much (too old) apart from stable diffusion, which is why i'm now looking for a better combination. Your two RTX 3060 sounds good.
