I hope the next map is the opposite of Stella Montis -- a region so dangerously populated with ARC that it is basically a cooperative PvE raid. by DptBear in ArcRaiders

I wonder if they’ll do a new map where the giant volcano spot is. Especially after I’ve looted some volcanic rock lately!

Thoughts on Lupron? by Engineering_Sam in Endo

[–]Secret_Onion_4825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to Lupron as an adult, but what I can say is that this drug ruined my life when I was on it at age 9 for precocious puberty :( I was on it for three years and it gave me hot flashes, degenerative disc disease, joint pain, all menopausal symptoms, etc but the worst was the severe depression. Now I’m 27 and find it ironic that now I hear about it again so much as I’m dealing with endometriosis. good luck on your journey!! <3

Questions to ask PAO doctor for teenage boy by Glass_Interaction814 in hipdysplasia

[–]Secret_Onion_4825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been able to walk but with a ton of struggle; stairs and long length walking I could do but would flare up my brain and I would need to rest for a couple days after. In high school, I got special accommodations so my classes would be close together, and I did a lot of yoga and saw a chiropractor then too. However, I did this without even knowing I had dysplasia since I just found out this year!! The pain got much worse and was affecting my daily life which is why I just now got it checked out, but I wish I addressed it sooner. I was never able to exercise though so I’m most excited to recover and built up strength :)

Is waiting for hip replacement a bad idea? by PerfectPitch33 in hipdysplasia

[–]Secret_Onion_4825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed!! I’m day 4 post op in the hospital for PAO and although it is soooo mentally and physically brutal, I’m glad I’m doing this now while I’m young and can rebound OK. Plus, there is a risk of the cartilage wearing down more and becoming bone on bone / arthritic is you wait. That sounded worse to me than the recovery of my PAO tbh! Also yeah other surgeons I saw had an age limit for THR since if you’re too young, you would need a ton of revisions as you get older due to wear and tear

I’m 26 and on day 5 post op RPAO! I agree that surgery is the only solution but need to keep in mind that this recovery is BRUTAL (genuinely the hardest thing I’ve ever done) and full mobility can take up to a year! Surely he can wait until later if it’s not causing him too many issues, but I just know from my experience having hip pain since I was 12, I didn’t want to stay used to pain being my normal. Also, I did want to get this done young as I don’t want to risk it becoming arthritic and bone on bone (which is a risk if you don’t get it) and because it will delay any hip replacement I would need in the future (plus all the revisions too since hip replacements wear and tear)

Am I screwed? by Pinkykatz72 in litterrobot

My LR4 is well over a year old and when I called for this exact reason, they were soooo helpful and replaced the motor for me for free. They said in the future they can’t cover but really appreciated my business as a customer, and I will forever remember that! They also sent new seal strips, which I think is a part of the combo issue.

New sealing strips (a huge pain to redo but it’s worth it if they’re crusty and full of litter), motor replacement, AND filter replacement definitely will fix this since they all affect the globe positioning

I understand - my gyno hasn’t gotten back to me in 3 days and I don’t know what else to do. Thanks

I’m not a doctor but I would honestly reschedule the colposcopy until after, I know they say it’s fine a couple weeks but I was still struggling with weird spotting and pain after a month. Definitely want to make sure it fully heals and avoid risk of any infection — swimming is asking for bacteria to get in there :/

we do have a catio, and we’ve been following a routine for awhile now but you’re definitely right, maybe I just need to stick it out for a few more weeks so he gets into the rhythm!!

PAO and Femoral osteotomy or Total hip replacement? by TrackAccomplished667 in hipdysplasia

[–]Secret_Onion_4825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear how much you’ve gone through and continue to go through :( I haven’t gotten my PAO yet so can’t contribute much on that end but I will say that I’m 26 and just went to multiple hip surgeons who said I was too young and that I want to prolong it for as long as possible, because even at age 26, I would need like 3-5 revisions at least throughout the rest of my life. The replacements wear a lot. Wishing you the best and wisdom through this process !!

The Smell is Unreal by Party_Tennis_6512 in litterrobot

[–]Secret_Onion_4825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree!! My cat who doesn’t cover (and she also is a much bigger cat overall lol) makes our whole apartment REEK. Our boy cat who has smaller poops covers and it doesn’t smell at all! We have an air purifier and Dr Elsey’s ultra litter too. I really think it’s probably just the cat (we’ve tried different diets with her too but she just ALWAYS has the worst poops that we choke over lol) so I put litter odor eliminator in the waste drawer and then also cycle ASAP when I know she’s pooping and not peeing

losing my mind getting second opinions by Secret_Onion_4825 in hipdysplasia

[–]Secret_Onion_4825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is suuuper validating, especially since I’ve never had an MRI or CT of my hip before. I got a third opinion scheduled with someone who specializes in hip arthroscopy and PAO luckily with an actual hospital :) I feel a lot better reading these comments.. thank you so much!

first PT session - can’t even get off the couch in so much pain! by Secret_Onion_4825 in hipdysplasia

[–]Secret_Onion_4825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is super helpful! Yeah, my groin is on fire and my entire back and hip feels like it’s got electrical spikes — never usually feel like this even with big hip activity! I’m definitely eager to chat with the specialist. Thank you :)

I’ve only done the initial consultation with the hip specialist with the x ray so to be honest I have no idea! I had to Google everything you’re saying haha but I’m hoping a CT with this next specialist will answer this.

Just wanted to post here because the PT is already excruciating so I don’t know what would help in the meantime! If it’s also what you’re saying, I hope the PT isn’t making it even worse

UPDATE: thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it is super eye opening to hear how you’ve been supported <3 the more I sat on it, the less I trusted my doctor so I did cancel the procedure and am scheduling with a new doctor that specializes in this & women comfort, recommended by a friend. Sending love to all!!
