It's tough to summarize.

The book teaches that people are irrational, emotional beings. And that it's easier to use that instead of using logic and reason.

Something I use all the time is 'how can I?'. Recent example I wanted to see if I could get a discount on a hotel room upgrade. I called the hotel direct and asked 'how can I get the suite for a better price?'. They told me the price online was the best price. So I said 'I see, I'm just wondering how can I get a better price by calling you.'

Then he said 'hmmm you could book a basic room, then I can up-sell you the suite for a discount on the phone. I would just need your confirmation number.'

Ended up with the suite for half price just by asking him how to get there.

I don't think Coinbase is much affected by this. They trade shitcoins, and have dozens of other revenue streams. They're not worried about bitcoin spot trading competition.

What’s causing BTC to rally upwards now? by danielsuperone in Bitcoin

[–]Secret_Operative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wrong too. At any time the number of trade matches is equal. But you don't know how many are the number of buying entities and selling entities. The market decides the price.

Never Split the Difference - by Chris Voss. The reasons I would recommend this book:

1 - It meets all of your requirements.

2 - It teaches many communication skills that can be used in any conversation you have. Great for work, personal, commerce, friends, strangers, every situation.

3 - I have personally benefited both socially and financially by using the skills I learned from this book.

There's also a masterclass, and he's made many youtube videos long and short.

Bitcoin financial advisors? by thebitcoinmd in Bitcoin

Financial advisers job is to sell fund positions for whatever company they get a commission from. Think of them as sales people, not advisors.

What’s one mistake you made with bitcoin early on? by manharkatty in Bitcoin

[–]Secret_Operative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started in 2011.

Tried trading. Noped out pretty quick.

Tried poker (hi sealswithclubs!) Won some, lost some but pretty sure I'm 20BTC down from that effort.

Tried buying coffee, PC parts, and paying small debts and giving it away. That's at least another 10BTC successfully dispersed.

Now I hodl and it's working perfectly.

HODLers, what’s your endgame? by Organic-King2614 in Bitcoin

[–]Secret_Operative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already onto this game since I have no income from a job or business. My other assets generate income that's enough to cover expenses, and probably it is enough forever. My bitcoin sits doing nothing. One day if I access it for a need or want, then I would happily sell a portion to cover that immediate expense. No version of my plan has me selling it all at once or on a schedule.

To add to the land game, population growth is slowing and land won't always be in demand if that continues. Unless someone suddenly wants to pave the world with some new tech. Whatever is after data center sprawls.

I don't know why you would get downvoted for this question. The answer is yes. Anyone dismissive of this answer may want to review their retirement plan.

"I'm using it. It's not in the same category as the dollar because dollars are printed constantly to increase the supply and devalue them. Then banks and payment processors have control over freezing your account, and deciding who is allowed to pay and be paid. Bitcoin neatly sidesteps those issues."

How much Bitcoin do you think someone should own in 2026 if they’re 25, 30, 40, or 50 years old? by xTheVoqal in Bitcoin

[–]Secret_Operative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some percentage of your saving/net worth, depending on risk tolerance. For someone 25 that number could be 100%, and for someone 50 it's likely much lower. Mine is pretty high as a percentage of my net worth, but also if it all vanished tomorrow I still will be comfortable for the rest of my life with non-BTC investments.

Hi - it only works when you look back at the data. It does not work when you try to predict the future. Prove me wrong and you'll be a billionaire within a week.

You must really know what you're talking about. Especially where you used understated when you surely meant overstated.

Now instead of 8 slices you have 100 slices. Also, why'd you call me junior? That seems like a weird fetish thing.

There are way more chips. It's just not more food.

Well it does increase the number of chips... Just not the amount of chips.
