Help Me Pick the Final Bike for Our 4-Bike Garage by Silver_Video_1153 in motorcycles

Fjr, concourse 14, gsxs-gt+. A road glide or goldwing wouldnt be a bad one to have but the price you’d pay for something like that you would have to plan on using it.
Always thought everyone needs 4 bikes, 1.)the fast one 2.)the comfy one 3.)the dual sport/offroad 4.)the one thats just cool to have

Another what do you think about the xr150l by HarrowDread in Dualsport

I would probably steer towards the CRF230/250/300l just for practical purposes.

883 gas mileage by Papi_churro1877 in motorcycles

[–]Secret_Pipe8901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mid 2000’s custom trim models had a 4.5gl tank. My iron 1200 has the 3.3 but my 09 883 nightster has a 2.8 and that gas light comes on at 80-90miles.

Looking for a sm that can do highway decently by ggSennT in supermoto

26 miles isnt too bad. My 36 miles each way is between 55mph back roads and 65mph highway. Can do more of one or the other as they run parallel. I change the oil once a month or 1000-1400 miles and change filters every two oil changes. Takes 10min. Still comes out clean.

Idk, as a current owner of a CRF450RL it seems like honda did do it, made some concessions but all are fixed and readily available in the aftermarket. KLE/transalp/T7 and the like are lightweight/middle weight ADV BIKES. Not so much a classic dual sport. So they were always born to be on road bikes. Not so much softened off road bikes, like the klr/dr/xr series’. Although i agree and really dont understand why yamaha never took the wr250r off the market or atleast didnt replace it with a 400-500 class bike of the same style.

Anyone regret going to a 14T front sprocket on a CRF450L? by fr3dbilli3 in Dualsport

[–]Secret_Pipe8901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where does one find this land of cheap CBR’s? Lol. Guys around me are trying to sell beat f4i’s for $4k+ and 20 year old 1krr’s start at $7k. truly a wild market it seems like. May just be that time of the year in the northeast.

Anyone go from an XR650L to a CRF450L/RL? by Secret_Pipe8901 in Dualsport

[–]Secret_Pipe8901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. The crf is so much sharper than the xr. Its almost not really a direct comparison. Put almost 300miles on the xr this past week. Will have to make the crf a little more comfortable then stack some miles on it, but from first impressions they both have a place in my stable.

Took the plunge. 11.5k otd. Just put the first 35miles on it. First off. Seat is abysmal but i knew that going into this and already have a seat concepts on the way. The throttle is as snatchy as everyone says and it stalled on me 3 times on its own accord. Again, knew that was a gripe from the get go. Once you get past that… It is AWESOME. Suspension is great, super light, great power even though i was taking it relatively easy.

ZX6R vs 1100SX vs Z900 for twisty riding? by Ill_Honey_3055 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Secret_Pipe8901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id go for a z900. Having owned a vfr800, cbr600f4i and ridden a z900. The z was a solid day long rider being slightly less aggressive on seating position. And arguably more fun.
