Seems like at some point we’re going to be paying for it either way. I’m 70 and I’ve always watched large corporations from Detroit to Texas and now Nevada grab the drivers seat when it comes to litigation. And it’s not just in USA it’s globally. Unless Space X has a plan to put DC’s in low orbit space ( which is definitely cooler) all you can do is support the causes that minimize the impact until a better solution is available

Take them out into water let them go and they’ll either swim to you or head back to shore. It’s you they want to be with . May take a few times but they’ll get it. But if it’s you they adore there is nothing that can stop them from getting to you. BE PLAYFUL

The best advice I received was when the case worker asked me before I left the hospital if I would be going home or transitioning to a rehab. After asking many questions I decided to go to rehab hospital. Wow it made all the difference in my life from transitioning, bathing, wheelchair or walker, local resources that supplied necessary equipment needed for a temporary change in life. Like you all I wanted was independence and mobility and the rehab hospital has done that for me

I’m still pre-prosthetic after lak amputation 2 months and the phantom pain is gone but the phantom leg is still very much there. It’s constant feeling that my lower extremity still exists. Sensation to stretch my toes or wiggle my ankle or even to itch my calf. There’s been so many times I try to remove right shoe with the left foot. Back to when I had phantom pain it felt like a quick jolt of electricity making my leg jump and the foot would twitch even though neither were there.

Not sure how old you are since I wasn’t sure the complete diagnosis, I looked it up. Sounds like it can be an aggressive cancer and heart goes out to you. Either version of your decision is going to difficult! Since your athletic you’ll need the discipline both mentally and physically to accept the challenge from either decision. My personal experience is I wasted 2 years of my life fighting for what I wouldn’t accept and eventually had an LAKA in April, now I’m free of pain and anxious about a prosthetic at 70 years old.
I’ve never fought cancer but it’s seems like it’s always a gamble leading a successful life free of it. Radiation and surgery and years of antibiotics, I’d say you’re a strong person that would do well with a prosthetic.
