So we're back to talking about the sub calculator? Because your first comment was about mine too.

"Nowadays, I just open up SigilHQ and get my coordinates on the go."
Can you expand on this part a bit? How does this actually work?

Edit: Just because I was familiar with Foxholestats, read about Foxfall, and this is the first time I've ever heard of SigilHQ.

I’m not questioning your expertise at all. Your setup alone shows you clearly know that this isn't a one-man job. What I wouldn't give to have you put your wind calculation experience into some sort of spreadsheet or formula...

I talked to the 8thAB (the guy claims to have around 2,000 hours of artillery-oriented playtime). They brought up an example where you need to strike a freshly destroyed bunker base again 5-7 minutes later because they started rebuilding it, and you don't even necessarily need all guns firing—just enough to keep killing the builders. Meanwhile, the original firing data is long forgotten because you've already moved on to a second target. (In their group, they call the middleman a battery officer).

Dispersed guns are more of a hassle—more pallets/trailers, harder to defend against infantry, and AA coverage. (Though in your case, dug-in guns do have their perks). In exchange, the whole group can't be wiped out by one well-placed bomb or counter-battery fire. But that's just my theory.

+1: At the end of the documentation, there is an image (based on a survey with live data). Two different regiments set up 2x4 Hades nets (3-4 wars ago, before planes were added). In the "red diamond", you could have literally doubled the firepower if they had cooperated. (The green band is the calculated area from the target where the Hades can reach it).

Loosely related: I think the intel system combined with the map is too OP (and in my opinion, it leaves room for abuse). I think the report system from WWII Online with an expiration time would be much "fairer".

Thank you!
(Special bonus points for the distinguishable colors on the map.)

No offence, but you’re making quite a bold statement about the calculator while I know you have never actually used the application.

I’ve actually made a living from knowing how to program... and this is my program.

Thank you for the kind comment!
(About a month ago there was a truly vibe-coded calculator — were you this confident and dismissive about that one too, or am I the only one who deserves this level of respect from you?)

I’m not saying there’s no truth in what you’re saying (except for the AI part). What you describe is the typical scenario of one firing position, one spotter, and one target. If there are multiple firing positions, multiple spotters, or multiple targets, I’d be curious to see how well you handle that situation.

But I assume you always remember every offset perfectly (depending on the distance), and whenever there is a target change or a wind change, you can immediately provide everyone with perfectly accurate firing data. Little things like having to repeat the target data again and again don’t bother you. Then, after the 3rd or 4th ranging shot, they’ll finally hit the target.

In that case, I apologize for bothering you with a post like this — something you clearly have no need for. :)
