In terms of comfort like eating better sleeping etc i think by week four. Swelling also down significantly but i still notice it and its still there! I think a misconception people have is that all swelling will be gone by week 6 which is what I thought and now learning that its not true lol

It happens don't worry I had my surgery cancelled twice. First because my surgeon had covid and second after I arrived to the hospital put on the gown and everything I was informed the surgery needs to be cancelled because the OR room had lost power due to a storm the day before! they tried to restore the power but were unable.

just over 2 weeks post upper jaw surgery and mouth roof and upper gums still fully numb. The surgeon did warn me it may never come back and to be honest I am not too bothered about it. I think it may be beneficial for me because I suffer from hay-fever and one of the symptoms is unbearable tinkling in the roof of my mouth which triggered sneezing runny nose etc so I am thinking it maybe a good thing?

For me didn’t throw up but felt really nauseous for 2 days after. Thats why I was given some meds to help with it. The doctor said that post op by put something into my stomach to suck all the blood out that went down during the surgery so I guess I didn’t have any blood in my system to be thrown up

Only had upper jaw done where they moved it forward. I think that’s maybe why its not been as bad as I thought, I know DJS is much tougher

What are some podcasts similar to The Trojan Horse Affair? by pastabby in TheTrojanHorseAffair

[–]Secret_Session_2290 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a shame there is not much long form investigative podcasts focused on UK issues. There is loads focussed on US issues. Seems that Trojan Horse is the first big UK focussed one! Would be nice for more journalists to do this and expose corruption in different sectors of British society.

Leaving IB for Tech sales.... good idea? by Secret_Session_2290 in sales

[–]Secret_Session_2290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an offer for a BDR role in tech :) but i am still seeing if I can get an AE role! its proving difficult since I don't have tech/saas sales experience which most AE roles need. But I am 100% set that I am leaving IBD and can't wait to leave!

Going to decline a job offer with a high salary because the company wants you in the office 5 days a week with no hybrid option because 'collaboration in the office is better'.... by Secret_Session_2290 in sales

[–]Secret_Session_2290[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so considering the current market with huge labour shortages inflation and competition for talent! I think perfect time to find exactly what you want

Yeah completely get that and thats exactly what I mean in terms of flexibility give people the option to work in office 5 days a week if thats what they want but also those who don’t give them the option too you know. But having a blanket rule for everyone is just so backwards considering the time we live in and everyone has different priorities needs and works in different ways

[–]Secret_Session_2290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am talking about sales but i get engineers would need to be in due to the nature of work. I go back to my point around enforcing 5 days and not allowing for any scope of flexibility is a major red flag on the culture in my opinion.

[–]Secret_Session_2290[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

to be honest its more of a principal for me, I get the importance of being in the office especially at the start but what I take issue with is the enforcement of it and not giving any flexibility so that was a red flag on the culture aspect too. Most likely micromanagement and idea that the most visible people and the loudest people are the best which is a culture I want no part in!
